Some franchises just seem to have it all since forever (Steelers, Cowboys, Packers) or their fortunes turn around for the better eventually (Patriots, Chiefs, Buccaneers) and some are just destined for misery. The New York Jets!

I hope and pray that I’m wrong in this but I’ve been waiting as we all have for 40 years or less. For me personally it’s been 30 plus years and I’m tired of waiting. I think it’s just time to face reality! I’ll never root for another team but how much longer I keep this up, I truly don’t know!

Whether it’s horrible coaching or a horrible GM or ownership getting involved when they shouldn’t, it always something negative with this team. It may be the the QBs or oline or running game or receivers. It’s always something with this team. Defenses have sucked at times and/or penalties in games, when we are trying to come from behind and building a little momentum. It’s always something with this damn team!

We seem to be stuck on a treadmill of incompetence. No matter who/whom is coaching, we always look like the same team.

The Defense definitely looked good today (can't expect them to stay out on the field the whole game and still produce); but the offense is just stuck in mud! It's not just an execution problem, they just look LOST! It's like they have no clue WTF they are doing out there.

Next two games is at Denver and Titans at home, I believe. That’s two more losses guaranteed. Hopefully we can beat the Falcons week 5 and if we can’t do that, then expect the doubts all around to come like never before. Especially being that Carolina will probably be 4-1 or 3-2 at worst at that point.

New Team,Coaches,Players, we have to give them time this year. Im worried about QB losing confidence in his abilities and hesitating making decisions.
Looks like he truly lost his confidence in the second half. I didn’t watch much of the second half but the few plays I saw, it looked that way to me!

Here’s what’s so bad about this and I hope that me starting this thread isn’t misleading. It’s not that I’m giving up or losing faith and our GM, head coach or coaches, QB or the rest of the team. It seems like it’s just a franchise in itself that seems to be distant for misery. No matter who’s in charge or who the players are. Yes we have come close on a few occasions and that just seems to be the teaser of it all but since 1969, no dice and will that ever change? At this point it just doesn’t seem that way!

So we move on next week to the 'Bridgewater Bowl' where Touchdown Teddy gets his 'revenge' (at least in the eyes of the media) for being discarded by the Jets, despite the fact that we salvaged his career.

First week our old qb
2nd week the guy we passed up
3rd week the other qb we passed up
4th week Sanchez may sigh for one week to just play us

Here’s something I think we all can take from yesterday especially me, we have to relax and realize this is going to be a long process. This is a new regime: second year GM, rookie coach, rookie OC and DC (I believe), rookie QB and a very young team. Average age of 25 years old!

So maybe their not destined for misery, maybe this is just going to take some time. A lot more time than what we all hoped for. I still have the upmost confidence in our GM, HC and the rest of the coaching staff, our rookie QB and young players. This is NOT a Gase, Darnold type situation.

I never thought that the Jets were going to make the playoffs this year but I was hopeful for at least 7-9 wins. There’s still a possibility of it but I’m now realizing that’s a VERY slim chance. Give us 5 wins at the least and I think that will be a happy medium and signs of growth.

When he sat on the sideline after int #3 or 4, he looked like he was about 15 years old. He really is just a young kid being thrown to the wolves and I feel for him. What did we expect? He's a 22 year old rookie on a shaky team playing in league made up of huge serious men who want to take his head off. And the fans demanding that he walk on and be the savior is just not realistic.

It's probably going to get worse somehow, but I'll have to be content with signs of improvement here and there - however small they may be.

I'm actually glad we dont have a veteran on the bench, they really have no choice but to put him in next week.

In case anyone forgot, that was Bellichick and the Pats we played against yesterday - a team that always hurts us because he hates us with a passion. And keep in mind that if 2 of those int's are taken away we are looking at a different game - the Pats did not play great and our D held them in check here and there. A lot of other teams would have kicked their ass and they would be 0-2 just like we are.

Not trying to be a wiseass, just offering some perspective... (and trying to hold my head up.)

that's whats bad though.. I think without the ints, we were the better team yesterday, but as usual we lost. I feel sorry for the kid too as I did for Sam. and I'm afraid he' ll be ruined like Sam too. By the time we hit 0-4 or 0-5

The more I think about it the more I'm putting this game squarely on the coaching staff. Well 75% on the coaching staff and 25% on Zach. They should reeled the kid in after the second int. Their game plan should have been for him to not throw more than 25 times max anyway. Game 1, who knows what their game plan was but it fell by the waist side because the oline was some shit and a running game couldn't be established. So they had to let Zach throw it for us to have a chance. Maybe he showed them to much in game 1 that made them think he could throw the ball 30 plus times every game but it's most likely not the case. He had to game 1 because of the circumstances.

This game here was totally different. The defense did what they do, which is hold the fort and keep the game close enough to win. The oline protected Zach and opened the holes for the RBs. So why wasn't the focus the entire game on running it and play action passes and RPOs, especially after the second int? If it was it didn't appear that way by their play calling. No Zach is not Lamar Jackson or Josh Allen but I'm sure in a RPO situation Zach can run for 5-10 yards here and there to keep the chains moving. Their relying on this kids arm like he's A. Rodgers or D. Marino in their 3rd or 4th years and he isn't there yet. Protect the kid from himself and build him slowly to that point.

You got this all wrong.

Sadly, the game plan was sound. There were open recievers on the first 3 picks. Zach has to learn to take what the D is giving. The 4th looked as if he didn't see the D shift from cover 3 to cover 2 and threw to his predetermined spot for cover 3. Really was no reason not to take the easy open reciever, 2 were positive gains for first down and 1 that would have resulted in 3rd and 2 at worst and the candy pass would have only gained 3-4 more yards if completed. The oc schemes open recievers, Wilson has to throw to them. Fortunately it's teachable.
