First possible candidate for Jets special teams coordinator emerges

With Bobby April out after just one season as special teams coordinator, the Jets and head coach Todd Bowles must turn their attention toward finding a replacement.
As the Atlanta Journal-Constitution pointed out on Thursday, there's an obvious candidate out there: Falcons special teams coordinator Keith Armstrong.
Bowles and Armstrong go way back. They were teammates at Temple University under Bruce Arians, the current Cardinals coach. And last year, Bowles tried to interview Armstrong for a job on his staff, only to have the Falcons deny permission.
Armstrong, 52, is a Trenton native. He's been an NFL assistant coach since 1994, first as a safeties and secondary coach with the Falcons and later as a special teams coordinator for the Bears and Dolphins. He's been in his current role with the Falcons since 2008.
And, as the Journal-Constitution noted, Armstrong's contract is about to expire. Which means the Falcons wouldn't be able to stop him if Bowles were to come calling again.
