This whole situation is a mess. I don't know what to believe. I'm hoping the franchise is being honest and Osemele is lying to get that extra $$ , but the Jets should be able to easily discredit everything he claims if true.

He claims he has been in the meetings.
Gase confirmed that too with his quote

So they have been in meetings together and Gase's office is next door to the training room. Share a common wall. He's been face to face with him every day...
As HC, you would think you would at least ask how are you feeling. Just shows a lack of leadership by the HC
Thanks for this, Tony. Agree that it shows lack of leadership. I'd add insensitivity, incompetence and dysfunction for both Gase and Douglas. Why wouldn't you just talk to your player? Why do they disagree with at least two doctors who are recommending surgery for the guy? Again, a very myopic and strange way of dealing with what should be a simple issue.

BTW Player wants to be paid while off for surgery he should have the Team where he was injured pay for him being off. So ask the Raiders to pay him and dont expect the Jets to be fine with it and slam Jets for Player wanting to get paid millions while not playing having surgery to be ready for free agency! He is a scumbag scammer.
So it was claimed that this happened back in training camp in August, so don't think they can put that on the Raiders.
Bottom line, anyone (and I mean anyone including everyone one here chirping), if you get hurt on the job you are going to expect your employer to pay for the surgery and your workers comp!

This should have been handled behind closed doors and never out in the public. This just makes everyone look bad at this point
