All people and that means every single one says something they wish they hadn't. Maybe it will be a learning experience for Fromm. Twitter and all the Social Justice Warriors want to ruin everyone for things they say. People are allowed to make mistakes.

Drew Brees is about as stand up of a guy that there is. I do not believe he has even a hint of racism in him. he was just stating that he won't kneel because he had family members who had been in the military. when asked about kneeling, the correct answer should have been- no comment. pretty sure he learned that

Wow, that's not ok. I'm going to be as harsh as Adams and assume that he and Brees feel no remorse. I hope that their apologies are sincere.
Fromm was wrong . Brees was right. Mob mentality is running rampant.

As a fan of the old American Football League I find it difficult to say anything positive about the Green Bay Packers. But I saw this:
Aaron Rodgers weighed in on Wednesday evening, posting a photo on Instagram of himself and his Green Bay Packers teammates locking arms in solidarity during a 2017 game with the caption, “A few years ago we were criticized for locking arms in solidarity before the game. It has NEVER been about an anthem or a flag. Not then. Not now. Listen with an open heart, let’s educate ourselves, and then turn word and thought into action.”
Brees should be smart enough to understand that.

brees is trying to be cute..

zero chance he didn't believe restating his stance on kneeling & the flag wouldn't go viral..

BTW, he does understand his grandfathers served in WW2 with other black soldiers, right??

& the black soldiers who made it "back home" didn't receive the heroes welcome that men who looked like brees' grandfathers did?? maybe he doesn't?? or maybe just more willful ignorance..

looks like belichicks way of answering questions is the right way. nothing he ever says gets him in trouble because he never says anything.

I'm not a racist and I honestly don't understand the point of any of this. which will probably make some think that I am a racist which I am not.

nobody can say anything today without somebody reading something into it that may or may not be true.

Brees was asked a question and answered what was in his heart. I don't think too many people can, on the spot, answer something without giving an answer that someone won't have a problem with. I know I couldnt because , again, I really dont understand any of this.

I read posts here and see guys arguing over things where I can see that one guy might have meant something totally different to how it came across to the other guy. I've looked back at things that I posted and thought, wow, that could be taken a number of ways. part of why when a introduced myself here, I said that just about everything that I post will be meant as sarcastic humor to make people laugh. If yo get a kick out of it, that's cool and if you don't, then feel free to just skip my posts and ignore me.

I grew up going to school saying a prayer and the pledge of allegiance every morning to start the day. somewhere along the way, someone decided prayer was bad and it changed to a "moment of silence" instead. today, they probably don't do either because someone was offended by both. to me , that's not a good thing

of course I never understood how we were supposed to be the greatest country in the world and we left England to be free but we came here and stole the land from the indians, or native americans, as they have to be called now and stole their freedom. This is their country, not ours. then we go to Africa and bring back people who look different than us and make them slaves. Wtf? who even thinks to do these things? I understand none of this at all. pretty sure this is not how the world was meant to be

What Brees said was *not* a “mistake.” A mistake is when you *accidentally* overcook a steak or wear 2 different shoes. In other words, it is an *accident!” What Brees said was a purposeful repetition of what he said 4 years ago. Now, you may think that what he said is no big deal, which is your right. But let’s not gloss it over by calling it a mistake. By the way, the “social justice warriors” didn’t lie or put those words into Brees’ mouth. He did.

My post just above is a reply to TebowCan’tThrow. I must not have tapped the correct link that would have made that obvious. The top part of my post is what he posted. The bottom part is my reply.

Well I never said anything about Brees. I was speaking about Fromm making a mistake as a 20 year old kid. I'm not going to argue about what Brees said. At the end of the day he doesn't have to kneel to support the cause.

Brees is likely to hold onto his status. His comments, while poorly timed and a bit tone deaf, are not as bad, and he has shown himself to be a good leader for a locker room.

Fromm will never, ever win over a locker room with his comments.

I think if Fromm was good he could win back a locker room. If he is a scrub they will continue to think about what he said.

I think tompabray just won the division. and I may be deaf, dumb and blind because I don't understand why what he said was so bad, but based on the reaction, that will be an unhappy locker room this season

Meanwhile UK media are reporting that Goodell has said that the NFL was wrong not to back political demonstrations by players during the US national anthem. As a Brit I have no personal stake in the US national anthem, but if these reports are correct the guy has lost the plot. When I was in employment if I had used the visit of a customer to espouse personal political issues that had nothing to do with my employer I would have been deservedly canned.

If the kneeling in games starts up again, the NFL will lose a lot of fans. The virus coupled with protests have hurt sports this year.

I actually think this is the perfect time to kneel. Fans are starved for sports and will probably accept anything and this time its justified. I think people are much more unified on this issue now than in the past. I didn't care if people kneeled before and don't care now.
