Football season is over with the conference championship games. The event this next week is nothing more than the wrap party wherein everyone gets to attend whether they were there for the making of the show or not, or even know what it was all about. The game itself is marred by the insane amount of money involved, a neutral location that should never be part of a football game, long delays for commercials, ponderous play and the ridiculous half time show. That just is not football, but unfortunately will be the way it is for some time to come.

That being said, the commercials themselves can be the more entertaining part of the event and the halftime show does eventually end even though it seems it never will. If we are lucky, there will be a whiz bang ending of some sort, but does anyone other than Patriots and Falcons fans truly give a flying Wallenda who wins at the end?

The best news of all is that once this is over, your team can go about the business of whatever their business is, which in the Jets case is backing up a dump truck to their roster barn, for some of us, figuring out how to get out of our season ticket obligations and for the this board, a long period of assaying, debating, conjecturing and complaining.

Oh and BTW, the Falcons will finally have their day and clobber the Foxboroites (Foxborians?)
