I know we're all getting geared up for the draft, i'd like for us to examine who the Jets already have on the roster that would be an absolute boom if they were to contribute this season.
My first pick is on the offense and that player is Devin Smith, WR Ohio State,2nd round pick 2015. If this guy can come to camp and actually win a job and contribute as a speedster, stretch the field WR along with RA. Then have Quincy and Terrelle Pryor on the inside, those are match up nightmares. Devin Smiths rookie year, i believe, was hampered by Fitzpatricks noodle arm that couldn't get the ball out in front of Devin. A lot of passes that were thrown his way were to short and he had to stop and come back to the ball.
On defense i'm going to pick Lorenzo Mauldin DE/OLB.He showed promise in his rookie year rushing the passer, then was told to put on weight for the following season and struggled and then injured his back, missing all of last season. If he, like Devin, can come back fully healthy and be able to put presser on the QB that would also be a boom for the Jets.
Also,it would give Maccagnan a bit of a boost as far as his drafting acumen. It would also give a shot in the arm to his 2015 draft class, because right now it is dreadful with only Leonard Williams.
#4 Bryce Petty is finished,OG Jarvis Harrison???? exactly, Deon Simon can this guy finally get off the practice squad?
well, those are two players that can really give this team a jolt if they can step up their games and stay healthy.
