There could be some serious surprises this year. My guesses are;

Breno - finally! My guess is they will continue to like the progress Qvale is making but not quite ready to anoint him the starter. They'll pick up a much cheaper RT off waivers until Q is ready (mid-season?).

Bohannan - Too crowded back there. Enunwa plays the H-back well enough.

Dexter - "And in the 4th round the New York Jets select Justin Burris, and say goodbye to Dexter McDougle'. As much as I love guys who only need a first name to be identified, it's time to cut bait here.

Deion Barnes - It isn't person Deion, it's just business. Barely beats out Reilly who could also be cut if a cheap veteran pass rusher is out there.

I do NOT like the idea of Breno being cut. It would have been great because I thought Mac would have addressed the OL in the draft, but instead he did NOTHING for the OL. Cutting Breno would only make an aready rather dire situation far worse. It all starts and ends up front and the Jets this season will stink at OL.

My surprise cut will be Dee Milliner. If he doesn't come out of

Hope you're wrong about Milliner. If he is healthy he is 2nd best corner on the team (IMHO), plus his salary is guaranteed. Again the big ? is whether he is healthy and available to play. If so, I think he is a lock to make the final 53.
My surprise cut is Kenbrell Thompkins. I'm hoping two of our young wideouts like Peake, Smith, or ? step up to make this a reality. I have nothing against Thompkins, but I feel he is JAG and a placeholder

Lets assume Fitzpatrick signs before camp.

Hackenberg is this year's #2 draft choice so you almost have to keep him. You have to keep the two experienced QB's.

So what of Petty? 4 QB on the roster is like playing short a man.

No way Petty gets cut. No way Maccagnan has a pie in face approach. Think about it:

*Parting ways with a player that is learning and being groomed.

*Keeping Geno Smith who most likely will not be re-signed at the end of this season.

Bryce will not be cut by any means whatsoever. Mac stated that it will take time for him and Hack to develop.

Plus, its Macs player versus a hold over from the previous regime.

surprise cut, Khiry Robinson who could be replaced by Romar Morris on offense...

on defense, think the obvious is Dexter McDougle who will likely end up in division with either Buffalo or Miami...

wishful thinking departure would be Breno Giacomini have three options that can replace him in Ijalana, Shell or Qvale (whom the team was said to be high on)...

I hope all this Fitzpatrick situation is over with and the team finally moving on from him... Geno Smith for one year with the weapons we have on offense even he should excel at worst he is a free agent next season and we have an in-house competition between Petty & Hackenberg moving on...

Very good chance Petty is the odd man out at Qb( cut). It's so hard trying to develope one developmental Qb with the new practice schedule , two is almost impossible.

Neither Hackenburg or Petty are ready to be the backup Qb. Geno Smith and another veteran Qb( whether it's Fitzpatrick, Or another veteran qb) will be the top two Qb on the roster..
Hackenburg the higher draft choice gets to be developmental Qb prospect.
