In his story here he does not see why the colts lost & why the Jets were better........He just throws luck out there. Sir read your story & the truth will hit you

I will give you two examples...."the colts special teams were so much better than the Jets"......In fact he says the Jets were poor......Well Jim turner set an all time record for points in a year not only as a kicker but total points for anyone.
The Colts going back to 58 had bad kickers Now lets see in the SB Turner had 10 of the 16 points & the colts kicker one point ***


2) The colts CB was sick well how about the JET WR Maynard that was hurt....What BS The greatest WR of all time was hurt

As I've suggested before, read Dave Anderson's "Countdown to Kickoff - the story of SB III".
He explained that the Colts felt that the one position where there was little drop-off from the regular was Bake Turner backing up Don Maynard (Who had a hamstring pull) and Maynard scared them. Early in the game, Namath threw a long bomb to Maynard that just went over Maynard's outstretched hands. It scared the Colts enough so they double covered Maynard the rest of the game, opening up the rest of the field.
We all seem to forget that the Colts had set a then- all time NFL record for offense. And the Jets held them to 7 points. In the book, in one of the meetings, one of the players yelled to Weeb Eubank, "Turn off the projector, Coach. We're getting over confident."

good post & bake turner was good but he was no Maynard.....Namath said on that bomb that he just missed because Maynard was running a little slower then normal. Maynard made a great, great catch just out of the end zone later.....He could hve had two TD.s playing hurt.

Now back to Turner I loved him & wish he had played in this day & age but when Maynard was out of the 69 game against the Chiefs he could not make up for Don.

I should say that there is always some luck in a game so yes there was some luck....Now the guy in the other story talks about how the tipped ball off of the TE deflected up right to Beverly but the guy that first tipped it was our MLB Atkinson. When asked he had hurt his arm & could not lift it that high otherwise he may have intercepted the pass himself.......Bad luck for the Jets LOL
