I know Mehta sucks but the way he has been calling out the Patriots for the Revis tampering did make me smile as a jets fan
Mehta is usually a tabloid spewing crap disturber. But he's spot on with this take on Kraft and the Patriots. Yes, sometimes idiots are right. If you throw darts blindfolded, you're bound to hit a bullseye eventually.

Come on, I know you're better than this. The two comments don't even come close to being equal. One's saying he was eager to sign Revis for the type of contract he signed with Pats while he was under contract with the Pats, the other is just saying that he wishes they had been able to bring him back but couldn't. I know you're better than that Sack, aside from you deep Patriot hate there's a smart savvy football fan in there.
If we tampered, ..... so did they when they signed him in under 3 hours last time !! Being set up at a league sanctioned end of season wrap up news conference is not tampering ... it is stupidity on all parts.
Woody has to file tampering charges with the league the way Kraft did, and he's stupid if he doesn't. It might seem petty, but its not, its being a letter of the law d-bag like Kraft and it might wind up saving us a draft pick, it might force Goodell into calling it "off-setting penalties" as maxmet joked above, lest he invites more scrutiny of his relationship with Kraft.
Its the smart move. If Woody doesn't do it he's stupid.
He's in "bed" with the Revis camp. He has been for years. Now, because Revis is back here, Mehta's stories involving him will favor us.
How are they different? Isn't the letter of the rule that you cannot comment about wanting a player under contract to another team?
If Kraft can argue that Woody's comments in December were meant to sway Revis when his contract was up, Woody can argue that Kraft's comments were meant to sway Revis in a few years.

He should. While Kraft's filing of charges was petty, he was by the letter of the rule correct.
And by the letter of the rule, Woody would be correct. So why not be as petty with Kraft as he is with you?
