Former Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum will take over the Dolphins' football operations in the near future, sources told FOX Sports reporters Mike Garafolo and Alex Marvez.
Tannebaum was the Jets general manager from 2006-2012. The team had a 61-58 record while he was general manager. The Jets also reached the playoffs three times, including appearances in the AFC Championship game in 2009 and 2010.
Tannebaum was hired by the Dolphins to be a consultant in August. He was consulting on projects involving innovation, analytics and sports science, per NFL.com. Tannenbaum was also working as an agent with Priority Sports.
