23 - when I said a higher one I didn't mean a higher first round pick. Just use the trading of Richardson to move up in the draft wherever (i.e., trade Richardson and a third rounder for a second rounder)..

No question he's a very good player. But we've committed to Mo and Leo for the future. We cannot tie up such a huge chunk of payroll to the d-line. Other positions have to get paid in the near future. Richardson isn't going to be a Jet in 2018.

If Macc is truly committed to a rebuild, it'll be interesting to see if he unloads Richardson for cheap just to prepare for 2018 and beyond. No question a 4th round pick return is gonna hurt though.

I agree plus a guy like him with his head on sideways is asking for more trouble

I say we hold onto Richardson. No point of trading him now. Why is everyone so down on him? Yes, he's an idiot and has off field issues but his play from last season is not the true Richardson.
The coaching staff put him out of position. Hopefully they put him in the right spot next season.

That's also part of the problem in his value being down? Yes, everyone knows he's an idiot and a troublemaker, sure. His value is adjusted due to those bad traits.

But people don't understand that Sheldon would be worth MUCH more than what he is currently. Toilet plays him out of position. It's obvious he should NOT be playing LB. Sheldon is an excellent DT. If you put him where he should be played, 2016 would have been a very different season for him.

Now I don't dare say we'd be getting a 1st for him? There's way too much baggage for that. But we would be looking at probably a 3rd rounder???

A second round pick and a future pick yes, but for a 4th? no. Absolutely not, give him a chance to shine this year without all his nonsense off the field. Brandon is gone so they wont be talking about each other and hopefully the new star (fournette preferably) can help them out get the locker room in a better mood.

If they're not offered more than a 4th rounder I would keep him for the year under one condition. That is if Mac and Bowles have the onions to bench him if he acts unprofessionally. I wouldn't even let him suit up if he doesn't come to practice or has the locker room issues . He'll be killing his own chances to cash in at the end of the year. Chances are he'll behave to get a new contract.
