Teddy Bridgewater expected to become free agent

this topic is about Teddy Bridgewater, but the Jets are interested in this type of QB then I would expect them to make a play for Lamar Jackson who is falls in this style of QB... Could then bring in Teddy on a team friendly competitive deal to allow him to reap the reps while allow Jackson to make the necessary adjustments to this level of play...

as for Case Keenum he is a system QB that flourished under a tailored system that allowed him to use his abilities that are limited like a Josh McCown difference is that McCown has played in plenty of different schemes and understand more varieties of game plans... We don't have the luxury of plug play need, our game plan has been sporadic over the last few seasons, no stability meaning bringing a QB that needs a certain scheme to have a chance won't be what we are doing now... Maybe last year he could of been that guy but doubt he is an option...

I could be wrong, but I hope I am not...

The relationship between Bates and McCown is actually solid to the point they understand each other, so the fall back plan is McCown but how stern are they going to be to find someone that could be here for two to three years to bring that stability to the position?

I believe that Bridgewater has three hurdles to get over, his injury, his limited play in the last couple of seasons and learning a new system. He's smart and capable and might be able to pull it off. Keenum is an up and down player very dependent on a good "O" line which we don't have yet and he also would be playing in a different system. With Bates taking over McCown would probably be playing in a familiar system, is undeniably football smart and has a good rapport with the team. He is injury prone, although he almost made it through a full season for the first time. He also runs hot and cold and would only be a short term investment. I can't wait to see how they sort this out.
