maybe but he has not played in some time so technically they could elect for him time served?
trade should be before March 19th before his $20 Million bonus kicks in... I expect by Wednesday next week we will know which teams are in play and it is down to Watson to waive his no trade clause to finalize the trade itself.

Grand Juries are presented the substance of the evidence the prosecutors possess to decide if there is enough evidence to warrant formal proceedings. in essence, the bar to reach for a victory in a civil suit, "The Preponderance of Evidence", was not seen by a Grand Jury.
this doesn't seem to be one of the cases where there is reasonable doubt, but a preponderance of evidence would likely have a jury find culpability. the prosecutors were found to have inadequate evidence...full stop.
we are nearly one year after the civil charges have been assessed that have been the talks about settlements. these same women are the reason(s) what led to grand jury for possible indictment on criminal charges. the only thing he is now facing is what the NFL might try to incure on him through their legal standings. Watson still involved on settlement discussions but now with no criminal recourse he has more leg to stand on basically nullifying the accusations against him.
and if reached, chalk it up to a public relations effort to get this in the rear view mirror... not an admission of guilt!!

True. His civil case will all be taken care of by cash settlements. I'm sure he wants to get on a team as fast as possible and probably won't be quite as fussy about which team that is. He'll probably snatch up the best offer at this point.

There might still be a payoff because it would make this go away and avoid further legal fees. But of course that depends on how aggressively Watson wants to continue to fight this.
