The chip on the shoulder and the morale boost

I don't know about you guys but I think Revis coming back, the Marshall trade is gonna have those guys playing with Chips on their shoulder. Why?

Revis - Guy has been nothing but a beast on the field. Than man is all business on and off the field. I absolutely thinks he wants to make this team a great one. He wants his money, can't blame him, but something tells me he want to win a Super Bowl more than anything as a Jet for several reasons 1. Team he was drafted by... 2. The team/City that made Revis Island a household name and marketable 3. He wants to cement his legacy as one of the greatest players of all time... Not just CB.



Marshall - He is still in his prime #1 .... 2 - Wants to prove Chicago made a mistake a huge mistake. 3 Wants to be a star in NYC ( who doesn't) 4 - Now knows the Defense will get the job done and wants to be the leader on the offense to do the same...

Morale Boost - If you don't think picking up Marshall/Revis/Cromartie has the rest of the team absolutely pumped to get on the field and start the season now, you guys are nuts... Wilkerson/Richardson are gonna be nuts this year... And Mark my words on this under Bowles Coples will have minimum 14 sacks.... the guy has been sorely misused... Even Cromartie is gonna elevate his game comimg back.... and if Milliner is any kind of Pro he will have a chip on his shoulder and hopefully stay healthy and elevate his work ethic and game ... I already had confidence in McDougles work ethic and now with Revis there this kid will be a sponge....

Watchout NFL if we get average QB play (i.e.. just don't turn the ball over) this team is gonna knock some heads and win a lot of games...

Don't forget Skrine. He will be pumped as well playing in that defense in NY-NJ with Revis and Cro. I'm with you on all your points. Brandon especially will be all over the field and in the ass of Geno when the dumb mistakes are made. Hopefully they will be very few mistakes and we can content for the playoffs.

Seems like they will address the o-line in the draft with one player at least. I think they will sign another one in FA or draft two o-linemen.

I was just thinking this yesterday, when I heat revis say he wants to make us Champs, I believe him. And he is exactly what we need, a star who takes ownership of this team, and has that fire to be the best. That's what his insistence on 16 million is about, he is footballs mj.

I disagree! Our Offensive line is a major problem. Mangold and Ferguson are getting older but still playing as All-Pros. Giacomini was a Idzik signing and cannot play RT. We have no Guards and I am not sold on Carpentar. We have did NOTHING on the OL since we drafted Ferguson and Mangold in the 1st Rd of the draft. We added some mid and late Rd picks who might (Oday, Dozier) contribute. Winters was thrown to the Wolves too early and may battle for a Guard roster spot or let go. Thats just the OL. We also need LBers. Probably our biggest needs beside QB is an OLB, OL, ILB and a breakaway threat at RB.

You can't address every position every year. The young guys will be better this year than last, our line is going to be to 10 as it is. Of course we need to draft a2nd rounder, but we aren't in crisis mode. Our line is better this year than last.

Yet with a terrible offensive line we were still the 3rd best rushing offense and I have read that our OL was one of the top ranked for pressure on the QB in the sense that our QBs had almost 4 seconds from snap to being pressured. In comparison.. Peyton Manning averaged from snap to pass something like 2.89 seconds....

I think our OL is better than we think because I believe the QB play made them look bad.... Are they playing at the level of 2010...NO? Are they as bad as we think they are? NO... You get a QB to make quicker, better decisions and we will all be amazed at how much better they will look.

My beef with the OL last year was the penalties.. that need to get cleaned up.... With that said we can use some depth at T.. we have 4 young G's, way to early to throw Winters away, they all have shown they can play we need consistency.. .. we need some T depth. Gaicomini was more of problem with the penalties as well.. His play was fine.. again will look better when you have better QB play...

ILB we can use depth...
OLB we have depth could use a pass rushing guy as Babib and Pace are older but lets not sleep on IK... Coples will be a monster with Bowles... Not a big need....

I don't think we need a home run threat at RB.. JMO but Martin wasn't one and neither was Emmit Smith... They seem to be two pretty god guys.. Our running game is fine with Ivory and Powell
