The Corona Virus & the NFL.

Going to the last game of the XFL at home this year for the NY team I looked around & said no way they can play if the virus is going on. I don't see how they can have fans go to games this year with this virus going on. 2) Even if they test all players they can't make sure they will be safe. Nothing is for sure in life but this will be a tough one to play this year. They would need to lock the teams in a private hotel for the season. Now there is always a slim.....very slim chance this will go away but Don't count on it. We really don't know what will happen. We don't want to lose lives over football.

My idea is to keep the players protected as much as they can & play just an 8 game season. with one super bowl If it is safe to do so. the 1918 WS may have cost 1,000's of lives...….this is no joke & what we have seen so far may be a walk in the park. I had decided to not go to the last guardians game when the league said no more games. I am not going to any games until this thing is gone or the treatment is very good.

I don't see how they can have a 2020 season, college or pro. If they can't play baseball, which is relatively low contact (apart from the bit where the coach goes nose-to-nose with the ump) how can they have lines of guys face-to-face breathing heavily into each other?

they already have the tv schedule made up for this season:

1:00 pm game- Cheatahs

4:00pm game- tampa bradies

no more night games. instead the nfl will have a discussion of who is better, brady or belichick. gronk will host

Really not funny my brother just had a major stroke & has tested positive for the virus. Lost my father in law to Corona two weeks ago. This may just be the beginning

sorry to hear that. It definately is no joke. My wife works with it every day. Luckily not in the icu every day anymore but none the less very scarey. she works a zillion hours then comes home and talks about it until she falls asleep. Ive never seen her worry about things like this including when she was on the ebola task force but this corona virus has her worried

Sorry for your loss. No not funny at all. The amount of death I have seen in the last 2 months is staggering. I work in the ER at st Joes in Paterson. I’m all for keeping us restricted as needed until a way to cure or slow this thing down is figured out. And cheater I agree with your wife, scary as fuck. Many health care workers are going to need therapy for PTSD before this is over. (Some of us already do).

I have been thinking about your wife over the last few weeks along with my wife's sister that works in Danbury hospital ICU. Please stay safe folks. I have studied this for years as a hobby & knew it was coming it was just when...…1A or round two could be much worse. don't put your guard down for a second.

rather than write my own reply, I'll second Butterscotch hero. and add that anyone working to fight thiss corona virus deserves a superbowl ring of their own. working in the ER or ICU... on a normal day , at least to me, is a scary enough job. whats going on now is unimaginable

I’m scared of the rebound that WILL happen after they open everything back up and most go back to their old habits.
Im hoping people are slow to back to their old ways. I know people that I would expect to be blowing off the social distancing stuff and they are surprisingly following the rules too. I think.a large percentage of people understand the severity of this situation. problem is we cant afford to stay home forever. many people more so than me. I feel sorry for those people. My wife has to work every day no matter what so at least we have a paycheck. being self employed, if I'm not working, I'm not getting paid

Unfortunately that's the risk we will run. Most of the country is not in the position that people are in the NY area. I know down in Dallas County which I live just on the border of they have had a steady amount of cases. My business was shut down March 18th, but we have started back up and have found a city that has very few cases and understands that the risk is pretty low outside. I coach soccer players and luckily I can still train them outside. Some places need to stay locked down. Others can open back up with limits. I'm glad Texas is beginning to do that. I know training kids I can keep them as far apart as I want. My brother lives in NYC and I know its way different there than here in Texas.

In 1918 San Fran was fairly safe because they hunkered down during the first wave......when the second wave hit they thought the same thing would happen so they all came out......they were hammered......this will be like walking a tight rope.....or putting out brush fires...we/they must act quick. In 1919 my great grandmother got wacked by the third wave. This time the first wave got my step father in law.
