The entire AFC East should be 0-1 after tonight

I understand there is no such thing as a sure thing in this league, there are no William & Mary's in this league to beat up on, all wins are hard earned in this league, but that said, Arizona is an elite team and this is a game they should win, BIG, with no Brady, No Gronk and a kid QB making his first NFL start. If they do what they should do tonight, the entire AFC East starts 0-1 and that Buffalo Game Thursday night is a critical early season divisional matchup.

Miami is at NE next week, so two teams in the AFC East will be 0-2 with a divisional loss on their record, and two teams will be 1-1 with a divisional win in the bank. Critical might be a little strong, but this is not baseball, you don't play 162 Games in the NFL, we play 16 of these and it gets late early if you start 0-2. Conversely, we're in a good spot to make a run at the division title if we win this game, and I absolutely do believe the division is winnable this year. Sucks that will let the Bengals steal the first one, but if everyone in the AFCE starts at 0-1, we're right back to square one.

Looks that way. It may not be a good division, and that includes the Pats. I can still see the Pats winning the division, but as a weak division champ, maybe 10-6. Jets 9-7, and likely watching the playoffs from home.

It could get VERY ugly in Buffalo. Rex's shtick works with a really good team. With a mediocre team, his bluster comes across as empty rhetoric. And Miami may make that next step sometime, but I still see sub-.500.

This could be a very middling division by the end of things.

I agree that 10 wins might win the AFCE this year, which is why I'm not thinking about the WC, the WC is a crapshoot, as you saw last year, you can win 10 Games and still get shutout of the WC. Nope, we have to concentrate on winning the division, and that starts by beating Buffalo. If we can't beat Buffalo, then the division title is a pipe dream.

The Jets haven't won the division since 2002 and today they really showed their true colors and t was not flattering. We found out that our HC sucks and finds a way to lose games. MJ, I'm as pissed off about losing today as anyone, I've expressed that in a million different ways, but THE REASON why I'm pissed off is because its a game we should have won, IMO its a game we gift-wrapped for the Bengals. IOW's we did more than enough to beat one of the consensus top teams in the league today. Even you gave the Jets little chance of even hanging with the Bengals. So while I am furious about losing that game today, I also recognize that the Jets were good enough to beat the Bengals if they didn't self destruct in a few spots, and that means they are good enough to win the AFCE with Brady missing four games, Ninkovich suspended, Gronk hurt, and the Pats just looking more vulnerable than they have in a over a decade. There's no way I'm conceding the division this year. This division is winnable.

Jets will lose next week and be lucky to win a game in the six game stretch. Sucks to say and think of it that way but it's most likely the truth. If not for any other reason, the Jets will lose next week because Rex just has our number and knows how to get his teams hyped for the games he really wants to win. He doesn't know how to do it for a entire season and that's why they will only win about 8 games this season and he'll get fired. But he'll do it for the two games against us and we'll lose both games to the Bills people. The Jets aren't the Pats and Rex will have his team hyped for those games also but the Pats win split, if not win both games against them.

Lol, I hear ya and understand but it's called coaching and schemes. They just know how to expose other teams weaknesses and capatilze off them and mask their weaknesses and make their strengths work in the game. They also know how to make their average players into good ones, good ones into very good ones, very good ones into great ones and great ones into greater one. Even an all time great one like Brady and Gronk into better then that and how the hell is that possible, I don't know but they just do it.

Sickening, was looking forward to the Cheatriots getting blasted to keep all AFC teams at 0-1. That way the Jet loss doesn't hurt as bad. Cardinals are laying an egg.

J82 is right, what Belichick does is not rocket science and frankly I don't know why more coaches don't do it, or if they do, not with the same level of success. Belichick's M.O. in a nutshell is to take away what you do best, thus what you like to do, and force you to beat him another way. So, for example, if the Pats were playing the Bengals today, its highly unlikely AJ Green duplicates the 12/180 he clipped us for today. BB would scheme all week to double Green all over the field and force the Bengals to beat him with someone else, and if his players miss an assignment, after being coached all week on what to do, they will be in his doghouse, they might never play again.

I don't know if Bowles planned to double Green on every play today, but if he didn't, then he didn't do what BB does, and if he did, then his players didn't execute the game plan.

The Pats are just smarter then most if not all really. Sickening to say or think about but it is what it is. Their smarter at cheating also, if you want to look at it that way. They use whatever they can to win whatever way they can. Whether they beat you straight up or cheat, they just do! Whether they throw the ball 65 times and run 10 or vice a versa. Whether they use deflates balls or video your practices. They just find a way to do and do it better then most, if not all! It all goes back to coaching and schemes, like I said before.
