He is one of the only stars we have. Offer him a fair deal now, average of top 3 safeties in the league. He can afford to take a bit less in exchange for having his money guaranteed against injury next year. If he won't take the deal, trade him ASAP for anything more than a first, before we lose leverage.
His contract is already fully guaranteed. Including next year.
He wants to be the highest paid safety in the league, and will be.
Landon Collins contract will be the starting point. ( 6 year contract worth $84 million with $44.5 million in guarantees with $26 million guaranteed at signing. Collins 2019 and 2020 base salaries are guaranteed full at signing. 2021 base salary is guaranteed for injury only and converts to a full guarantee on the 5th day of the 2021 league year. The contact includes an option bonus for 2024, which is due between the 1st and 5th day of the 2020 league year and is worth $6 million. If the team does not exercise it, Collins will earn a $6 million non-exercise fee. The contract includes per game roster bonus pay, up to $500,000 in 2021-2024.
Avg salary of top 3 is 14.33 mil per year. Adams will get $15.

I've always criticized Adams for his mouth and lack of game changing plays. If he keeps playing like he has been then I wouldn't mind keeping him after exploring all options for a trade. If he wants out then hopefully his value is sky high.

Losing Adams, who might get beat ocassionally, that's bad because nobody else ever does, to get a couple of picks, guys that probably won't be able to bring anything to the table that he does, just doesn't make sense to me. He's not just a good player who's only 23 years old and getting better all the time he's a good team mate, locker presence, teacher, "D" line leader along with Mosley, who is out likely for the season, and complete moral booster. Not only do I agree with keeping him I also think they should get a deal done as soon as possible before the price goes up more. The more good players we dump to get draft picks, that may or may not pan out, the more holes we create that need to be filled. Yes, it's not normal to build around a safety but that's what we have, that and a promising QB and slot receiver. It doesn't make sense to throw away sure things to get more maybe things. I was pretty good at math in school and getting rid of a star player in a position you don't have to replace just doesn't add up to me. I know you young guys learned math differently than us old farts but different doesn't always mean right.
I agrer. As long as he doesn't then into Revis, wanting a new contract every weekk, then we need to keep him. How often do we draft a good player? Can't get rid of the one we did draft.

As much as everyone loved revis, nobody ever threw in his direction so they just through completions to the other side of the field. That's not great to me, unless the guy on the other side is just as good
