Why in the world would we bring that punk here? One of the dirtiest players in the league. Teams have been growing tired of his act for years, which is why he’s on the move again. He would destroy any positive culture change we’ve built over the course of unloading problem children over the last two years.

As I understand it, Bridgewater's base is around $5 million. The other $10 million are incentive-based. And if Bridgewater is 100% healthy and returns to his Pro Bowl and Rookie of the Year form at the age of 25, it will be worth the other $10 million to have a 25-year-old franchise QB on the roster.

I know it doesn't fit with the SOJ argument.

Also, since he hasn't played in 2 years, presumably those incentives are of the 'not likely' variety, so wouldn't hit the cap until next year.

Also - anyone who doesnt like what the Cards did in signing only Bradford with no insurance has to like the Jets signing Bridgewater and McCown. Or likes being miserable.

As I've been saying, Mac is going to trade up to get his QB. Now that he's done exactly that, I expect a few more signings with the cap space left. He needs to fill holes those second round picks would have filled.

This trade makes Bridgewater and McCown seem more like overkill, that McCown money would have been much better spent on the Honey Badger, then maybe start Teddy for a year. But whatever, whats done is done, I'm just happy we didn't delude ourselves into thinking we were set at QB and traded up to insure we get our young FQB. The price was high, but in the end nobody will care what we paid if we get our FQB.

Okay I lied, rant not over yet, one more thing ....

Here's the difference between the Yankees and the Jets.

Yankees led the league in HR's last year. LAST THING they needed was another HR hitter. But there was an opportunity to go out and get the NL MVP and preeminent HR hitter in all of baseball, the only guy who hit even more HR's than Judge, and matched him for distance too, and they said F--K IT, we have a chance to take this thing to a whole nother level, to a modern day murderers row that will absolutely bludgeon pitchers to death, so lets GO FOR IT!!!!!

IOW's if they had an opportunity to add the Honey Badger to what was always an impressive unit, and the actual price was a joke, biggest steal in free agency by a country mile, but even if they had to double or triple the Texans offer, whatever, if they saw an opportunity to take their secondary to a whole new level by adding one of the elite play-making DB's in all of football, only 25 Y.O., there's no chance in hell they don't move heaven and earth to acquire that player, critics be damned.
