Not with the #1 overall pick!!!
That might be even better? Rosen and Mayfield are cocky douchebags as you say? Sorry, but no matter who you want to be the QB, they are arrogant.
But to some respects that's a VERY good thing. I would think being confident about your abilities on the football field would be a good thing not only from a play standpoint but also from a leadership standpoint? I want whoever the Jets pick to be confident in himself and his abilities. I think that is an important trait in a young football player.
I also have no problem with Mayfield's size or brushes with the law? Look, I went to college. I was a traditional student. I parties my ass off back in the day. Anyone who was around me swore I was a full blown alcoholic. I drank every day from the second I got up until I went to bed. I made a fool out of myself MANY times at Mayfield's age. If it were serious drugs like cocaine or something like that caused him to get rowdy I would draw the line. But it wasn't. It was alcohol. It's legal and it's something I would think just about everyone on this board has had a problem with at some point in their past? So long as he doesn't have an addiction to alcohol, I could care less.
I also do not have a problem with Mayfield's height? Drew Brees is what 5'11"? Maybe 5'10"? He's had a storied and very successful career. So, NO, I don't believe Mayfield being merely 6'1" makes him a bad choice.
Wouldn't this also be a good thing quite possibly? If Mayfield is available and Rosen and Darnold both opt to stay in school? The Jets get to trade down and accumulate MORE picks and still take baker Mayfield later on in the 1st round? That could be a BIG win for the Jets.
