The Jets are as bad as expected

One of the things that bothers me about any coach is when he tries to fit players into his system, in this case a base 3-4, rather than creating a system that best fits his players. Having said that, I believe that most teams play a base 3-4, but I have never seen any other team try to cover a pass play with a 280 pound linebacker. This is feeling like Kotite Jr.

Everyone is quick to hit on TB but why does the GM get a pass? This team has next to zero talent on it now. Lombardi could not win six games with this group

Not with the #1 overall pick!!!

That might be even better? Rosen and Mayfield are cocky douchebags as you say? Sorry, but no matter who you want to be the QB, they are arrogant.

But to some respects that's a VERY good thing. I would think being confident about your abilities on the football field would be a good thing not only from a play standpoint but also from a leadership standpoint? I want whoever the Jets pick to be confident in himself and his abilities. I think that is an important trait in a young football player.

I also have no problem with Mayfield's size or brushes with the law? Look, I went to college. I was a traditional student. I parties my ass off back in the day. Anyone who was around me swore I was a full blown alcoholic. I drank every day from the second I got up until I went to bed. I made a fool out of myself MANY times at Mayfield's age. If it were serious drugs like cocaine or something like that caused him to get rowdy I would draw the line. But it wasn't. It was alcohol. It's legal and it's something I would think just about everyone on this board has had a problem with at some point in their past? So long as he doesn't have an addiction to alcohol, I could care less.

I also do not have a problem with Mayfield's height? Drew Brees is what 5'11"? Maybe 5'10"? He's had a storied and very successful career. So, NO, I don't believe Mayfield being merely 6'1" makes him a bad choice.

Wouldn't this also be a good thing quite possibly? If Mayfield is available and Rosen and Darnold both opt to stay in school? The Jets get to trade down and accumulate MORE picks and still take baker Mayfield later on in the 1st round? That could be a BIG win for the Jets.

After two weeks of the season gone by, dare I say the Jets are actually far WORSE than expected? As slow and old as Harris had become, he's still the best linebacker this team had. Davis and Lee are a death sentence for this defense.

Lee and Davis are invisible. Jets should look at 4-3 teams and see if they have any interest in Lee. He is not an ILB in a 3-4, MaineJet had it pegged all along.
Jets should demote Davis immediately, if not out right cut him,he is terrible. Throw Stanford there or promote Harris from the practice squad, something. That cannot be any worse than what we are seeing out there right now.
This also shows you about the head coach, Bowles. How in Gods name did Kacy Rogers survive last years coaching purge?
I guess it won't really matter, 14 more games like this and they'll all be gone.
I don't want to be too negative about yesterdays game, let me point out something positive, The Raider cheerleaders looked very nice.

The big question is how many season ticket holders will want to show up for the games? I can see the opener but as the year goes on watch out

In Mac's defense, none of the 2016 draft picks are really playing all that well. I still think Mac not pulling the trigger on the Laremy Tunsil trade was a piss poor decision, but it's not like Tunsil is setting the world on fire either?

Mac took the BPA and normally I would 100% agree with the approach. The problem with that approach is sometimes the BPA is NOT the BPA for your team? Darron Lee is a painfully obvious example of that.
