If I'm the Jets, I sign Brian Hoyer in a heart beat to compete with Geno. Led Cleveland to 7-5, and then he slumped. It happens to the best.

I've read in a few places that the Jets are interested in bringing in Mallett. I would be okay with that move. He and Geno competing will be a good battle.

I would love to see Mallet in the mix here as long as we draft a QB or pull off the trade for Foles.

I don't think the jets trade with Philly ever happens. If Philly is that desperate, and willing to pay, they wouldn't leave it up to chance that he's still around at 6.
They'd either trade into the 2 or gamble that he's around between 3-6 and then offer a trade.

Easier said than done. The other teams have to want to trade down to 20 and if they aren't in need of a QB like Foles, that trade becomes much harder to balance. Is Kelley desperate enough to trade all his 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounders this year and next to move up to 2-5? Maybe but I think Philly will turn on him if he does and Mariota isn't Montana almost immediately.

I disagree foles is only relevant to teams that would otherwise draft marriota. If they are taking a de, and Philly offers them 5 or 6 picks, they're taking it. Nobody's going to pass on 1,2,and 3s over the next 3 years for a de or wr.

Philly would have to sell the farm to trade up higher than 6. While it's certainly not impossible, at first I thought that it was unlikely. But, Chip Kelly has been very aggressive in FA, and FA hasn't even started. Could this be because he is expecting to trade multiple draft picks? It seems like the obvious conclusion to me. But how high will he go?

True but the point is, there's no certainty that he slips to 6, so if your plan is to trade up to get marriota you need to trade up to 2, or just wait it out and see if he slips to 6 and make a draft day deal. But you're taking the risk that he's gone before you have a chance to trade, plus the jets could use him, so they could use some major leverage.

I agree with signing hoyer or Fitzpatrick, and sitting pretty at 6, let somebody offer us something stupid for Mariotta. 5 picks in the top 3 rounds will set us up as an organization for 5-10 years.
