I always liked Walt Michaels.
I will correct your post: One guy who literally said he wanted no other job but as HC of the NY Jets is Mike McCarthy. And true to form, the schmucks in management told him no thanks, we've got our guy, Adam Gase. I nearly whipped a table into a wall when I heard this last year. Only this cluster fuck of a franchise would turn down a great Super Bowl winning HC/QB teacher/future HOF recipient for a failed Miami HC who just got fired. But not before carpet bombing that franchise and owner.
Mike "look I will have this team playing like the packers in two years"
Chris & Woody: "No, No, No mike we want them playing like Jets'
Mike: " But boys where did that get you for the last 50 years?"
Chris & Woody (Smiling) " Hey we tripled the value of the team We even added Roast beef sandwiches this year"
Mike "But your draft choices stunk for the last ten years"
Chris & Woody (Again smiling) " Yeah but that means we save money by not resigning them for big contracts"
Mike " How can you guys sleep at night?"
Chris & Woody " We as you know we have many cheap cheerleaders"
Mike " Back to football guys what do you want me to do for you"
Chris & Woody "Keep the good thing going that we have now.....As you all know.... all press is good for the pocketbook"
Mike "Well I don't see that I can help you guys at all"
Chris & Woody "Well there is one thing you could do Mike. Buy a Hotdog & Beer before you leave. Sales were off this week.
So true and so sad......I love that Keyshawn said "You had Mike McCarthy in and you let him walk for Adam Gase....Adam Gase!!!!"I will correct your post: One guy who literally said he wanted no other job but as HC of the NY Jets is Mike McCarthy. Great post. I'm in my sixties and it seems like we are perpetually in that three year rebuilding mode. That's beyond pathetic. But guess our sticking with this team shows either mental toughness or decay. So true and so sad......I love that Keyshawn said "You had Mike McCarthy in and you let him walk for Adam Gase....Adam Gase!!!!"
Damien Woody also went off recently as well in video.
We are so so so screwed. Gase is worst coach in history - possibly the sport. Johnson is oblivious - much like his brother - but even more so. Darnold is broken - Our best player is a safety who will be playing somewhere else next year, Beside Jamal, Maye, Crowder, CJ, Williams, and Bell - our entire team is made up of #2's and #3's - and that is even sadder when you consider that two of those names are safeties! Our coach is inept at fielding a healthy team and looks like Coach Klein in the beginning of the Water Boy movie everytime he is out there. Our Defense is so bad, I dont know why we even bother with coverage - lets just send 11 every play at the QB.
Playoffs, playoffs?!?!? We are years away....
Not a single player on our oline is a starter.
No #1 WR, No #2 WR
No #1 and #2 CB's
No OLB (LT, Center, Guard....)
No TE (Yes Herndon might be good but who will ever know with how much time he ever plays)
No RB (Yes, we have Bell but realize by the time we rebuild he is at the end of his career)
No QB (Darnold is broken - can he be salavaged?)
Best case we are looking at 3 year rebuild to fill all these holes....reality is Darnold may be broken and if Gase stays another year - we could be 5 -6 years out because Sam will not be salvaged. Add to that he is in year 2....by year 4 he will need to get paid (rookie QB's dont usually wait to year 5) . That means our rebuild wont be done until Sam's year 5 which means in 3 years we will be drafting a new QB which will take 2 seasons to develop added to a 3 year rebuild which gives us 5 freaking years...........#!@#@!#@ . I hate you Gase/Johnson!
I don't know why, we did switch from the vanilla play calling to the chocolate play calling didn't we?Pretty soon I am going to burn my jerseys...Has anyone ever actually seen football games like this lol.
I mean my god, every week it looks like a continuation of game 4 of the preseason...
I thought it was the swiss cheese play callingI don't know why, we did switch from the vanilla play calling to the chocolate play calling didn't we?
I here ya. I was 3 in 1969 so if I didn't say it , I meant to say, of the coaches that I remember Parcells is #1

I will put McCarthy's track record against Gase's any day of the week.Grass is greener. Ask Packers fans how they felt about McCarthy.

yeah, me too munch..I will put McCarthy's track record against Gase's any day of the week.
Look, I don't have the pulse of Packers' fans. Like Jet fans who actually like Gase and what he's doing, I'm sure there were plenty of Packers fans who hated his guts. But I don't think anyone will dispute that McCarthy got fired because Rodgers didn't like him or the scheme he was running. Plus, unlike recent history, they were losing games. And as you know, all NFL HC/QB/Management relationships have a shelf life. Management figured they needed a happy Rodgers so dumped McCarthy.I agree. But ask what Packers fans think about him.
