o-line was better than last year - they still need some time and our big man will develop. Much improved - Sam had some prressure but considering the bills d-line is one of the best in the NFL they did pretty good. The biggest development area is room to run. But it cant be blamed for this game

I didn't see game, and am interested in some eyes to tell me what they saw. Did it improve at all from beginning to end? Did Becton look out of place, same with Fant? How did our new Center look. Why is it that we can't run the ball, is it scheme, play calling, quality or all three? Serious answers please, not in the mood for Joe Douglas/Adam Gase needs to be fired or we should have drafted CD Lamb.

of the five both tackles look good...

Becton had one or two hiccups but nothing serious...

Fant was solid at right tackle...

problems stemmed from the interior, weren't able to get off blocks to open up rushing lanes for Bell who was still hampered with his hammy...

when Frank Gore and Josh Adams got reps they had no problem surging through the line but at that time the game was almost over... Basically garbage time but this line looks better built for north/south rushers... not saying the athleticism can not sustain counter blocks to the outside for Bell but if he is hurt then he is ineffective until he is 100%

the real testimony to Gase's game plan was we have 4 tight ends and we rarely had more than one on the field at any given time... Herndon saw the most reps, did next to nothing...

Thanks, good news about the OTs. I guess we shouldn't have expected miracles overnight, but a step in the right direction hopefully.

Fant was awful at RT. Looked like he was wearing roller skates. Was constantly getting pushed right back into the pocket. Once into Darnold once for a big loss on a bell carry' and look where he was on the Sack. Standing on the left side of the pile. He graded out with a 51.1 for pass protection .
Becton had some hiccups as expected but was pretty solid, didnt look like a rookie. Had a holding penalty and gave up a sack.
The interior was just bad, but to be expected.
We likely have 2 future starters McGovern and Becton. The rest, Fant , Van Roten and Lewis have a lot of improvement to make or they wont be back next season.

thanks. Saw where Brian Baldinger said after Sunday that Becton looked like the best rookie he had seen so far. Not sure who he was watching or if it included other positions than OL. Regardless, high praise indeed from someone who played the position in the NFL.

the line will improve. we all know it takes time for them to learn to play together.

not sure how much of the problem they were this week anyway. early if I remember Sam had some passes dropped and then by the time we got our first first down, the game was already over and Sam started making mistakes. still if not for the Herndon fumble? I think, we were about to be back in the game, which doesnt seem possible

From PFF:

5. T MEKHI BECTON, NEW YORK JETS
Becton was the only Jets offensive lineman who wasn't a liability on Sunday. He was a people-mover in the run game and made several impressive blocks, which helped him to a 77.4 run-blocking grade for the game.
However, it was Becton's pass protection that was perhaps the biggest surprise of the week. We were worried about how he would fare on NFL true pass sets after seeing very few of those reps at Louisville, but he ended up earning the third-highest grade on true pass sets on Sunday. All told, he allowed just two pressures from 41 pass-blocking snaps and ended the game with a 77.2 overall grade, the 11th-best grade of the week.
