One of the biggest problems with Lafleur was that there was nobody to support him if he was having issues. Saleh is not the guy to support him since he's defensive minded. When Ullbrich was having issues, Saleh was there for him. If MLF was more experienced, it probably wouldn't have ended this badly. But his staff was underperforming bad personnel decisions were being made. And the starting QB floundered for a year and a half.
An OC who can work completely independent of Saleh would benefit the team a great deal because it would take something out of Saleh's hands that he wouldn't be able to handle in the first place.
