The Numbers Back Up What We Knew

I could see the Jets getting razzed by the same city Giants in the most populated city, but the whole country? More than a couple of cities added an AFL team to their phone books having an NFL team. We were snake bitten Day 1. "Joe Willie, you know anything about this"?

That is why I watch the game without volume while listening to Jets radio. They are rarely in sync together (no more than a play behind either way) but I don't care. I hear more intel on the radio about the Jets than I ever will with TV broadcasters. Just what a Jet fan wants to hear during a game. Bob and Marty are worth it.

Another point I'd like to make is these broadcasters are instructed by their bosses, the producers. The already have material in place from the production meetings the night before games. They may have certain liberties but the themes have been established, plus the producers are in their ears during broadcast. Have you ever wondered why other sports carry two or more broadcast, one for each team plus a national and/or international for select games, yet football has one crew assigned weekly? It's the networks! They decide who calls what games based on proposed ratings.

Until the NFL levels the playing field for other independent networks to broadcast Sunday games this will continue to be the case. CBS, and Fox will shell out millions of dollars if not yet billions, to keep control of Sundays. They will keep rotating broadcasters based on team TV ratings, and will continue bashing certain teams, including the Jets.
