SPOILER ALERT! If you haven't watched Sunday's episode of The Walking Dead, don't read any further!
To echo Jesus's words from Sunday's episode, "the world is about to get a lot bigger" for our crew of Survivors. It definitely looks like a brave new world as the second half of season six will focus on different "tribes" of survivors trying to coexist in the post-apocalyptic world. This is a theme that I can't wait to see play out. I really like the realism that is injected into this storyline. It makes perfect sense that different civilizations will either try to trade or go to war with each other. We have seen a lot of the latter in seasons past. It will be quite refreshing to see a bit of the former.
This brings me to Jesus and the Hilltop Colony. I thought that the Alexandria Safe-Zone was a poorly run and protected civilization but after seeing the Hilltop, I can't help but to think, how these people managed to survive for so long? Their leader, Gregory, is not the brightest, and definitely no Deana. No one at the hilltop can fight and there are no weapons to be found, save for a spear or two. After it was revealed that Neegan has an "agreement" with the Hilltop, it makes perfect sense as to why it still exists. He is using them for their food resources, running them dry in the process, until there's nothing left, which is when I assume he will get rid of them.
Enter Maggie, who has become the unofficial spokesperson for Alexandria. She brilliantly convinced Gregory to trade with them. They get food and medicine while the Hilltop gets weapons and training. Also, Rick and co. have agreed to take out Negan. I'm willing to bet that they will regret that decision in the weeks to come. On an related side note, I thought it was interesting (convenient?) that the doctor that Rick and co. helped save prior to entering the Hilltop happened to be an OBGYN. Looks like Maggie and baby will survive? Somewhere Lori's corpse is turning.
A few other notes, kind of worth mentioning, although not really. Is anyone over Abraham and his infatuation for Sasha? I really don't care about this love triangle AT ALL. Get rid of them both and take Rosita too, I say.
