after rick tells daryl & carol that they'll take over alexandria if need be, he briefly flashes a sinister look before reestablishing eye contact with them.. it was subtle but definite..
that said, i was still stunned rick said it.. but he certainly did give deanna fair warning about letting strangers into alexandria.. & that was the first time in my eyes rick looked untrustworthy.. wild eyed.. preditorial.. he might not be the governor (at least not yet) but there's no question in my mind he will kill to protect the group & alexandria.. period..
oh & it didn't take any convincing for daryl & carol to be onboard, BTW..
did rick not tell michonne about his feelings yet because he's worried she may need some convincing??
I'm still not one hundred percent sure they are going to go down that road with Rick. This all just might be red herrings, but I do agree with most of what you said. He definitely would kill for his group but at one point and time he was a cop and I can't fully believe he would sacrifice those principles of right and wrong totally and completely. I know he and his group have been through a lot but I don't know the whole emphasis on remembering who you are from that episode just brought back the old Rick. I think as a leader though he has to act tough because that is what the group needs.
As for Michonne, I think she was put as co-constable for a reason. Deanna knows that she is "heart" of the group and the moral center, which really, really scares me because every single character that they have juxtaposed to Rick (and especially if they have morals) die and they die horrible excruciating deaths. I so hope that she won't be the next victim because she is so awesome and bad ass!
