Let this be the thread for the off season debates, concerns and co-signings, Lol!!

Jets faithful, we all know or believe that the Jets aced this draft and did pretty well in free agency. I think we all can agree on that. Joe D is doing his part! He is showing that he can build a team the right way. Now all the players have to do is put in the work and show it on the field. Hopefully without injuries they will do just that.

Let’s not forget the coaching. Now it’s on Saleh and his coaching staff to put all this together. I think we can actually say that we have 4 legit starters out of this draft class and I mean four starters that can truly make a real difference in wins this year. I think we all can agree that last years rookies were ok but not on this level.

Except for Vera-Tucker, the rest aren’t or don’t appear to be prime time players. Now hopefully I’m wrong about that, especially with Zach Wilson but Carter and Moore are beast but not premiere number #1 guys. Neither are all the others from last year. Only two that appear to have a chance is Vera-Tucker and hopefully Z. Wilson.

Gardner, G. Wilson, Johnson II and Hall, all appear to have what it takes to be true difference makers from year and game one. And I mean like All-Pro, rookie of the year, Pro-bowl, MVP and Hall of fame type stuff to come down the line. The other three draft picks appear to have something positive to give as well.

In free agency the Jets seemed to have nailed it or at least done a respectable job there as well. So I won’t call this a playoff team JUST YET but I can’t see any reason why they won’t be at least 4 wins better than last year. So I’d say 8 wins is reasonable enough. Anything less than that is a true disappointment!

AGREED 1,000,000,000 percent. Becton is the key here. If he can stay healthy and play 12 games at least, that will make it a pretty quick upside progression and a 8 win season VERY possible. Z. Wilson development of course goes with that.

We did great on the Draft but of course we cannot hit all areas as well as others. I feel our Linebackers will take a hit this year. I may be the only one who am not happy drafting Safeties to play Linebacker. I also don't feel our Offensive line is as great as some of you think it is. I am worried about RT and the Center position. If Becton comes back strong, will Fant be able to man the RT position? If Becton does not come back strong will he be able to man the RT position? What about the Center position? We will know when the season starts. Because there were many here who thought at the beginning of last season that Greg Van Roten was going to be a stud RG for us. Even so, with these few holes and no major injuries I see us winning 9 - 11 games.

I think Fant is more likely to come back and play LT regardless of Becton's status. I like Becton potentially in either spot, but I like Fant really only at LT.

I'm not sure that many here thought GVR was going to be a stud. Some thought, myself included, that he could be a solid depth piece with some starting experience, or that he was a good story of a one-time Jets fan.

I think Fant is more likely to come back and play LT regardless of Becton's status. I like Becton potentially in either spot, but I like Fant really only at LT.

I'm not sure that many here thought GVR was going to be a stud. Some thought, myself included, that he could be a solid depth piece with some starting experience, or that he was a good story of a one-time Jets fan.

As long as Becton is playing and playing at full strength, he will make this team MUCH BETTER at either position. Becton is the key to this offense in my opinion. With him, everything else gets better, including the defense.

My sense is Becton holds the key to that answer. If Becton stays healthy and plays at a top level on the right side, the Jets can go into the draft or free agency seeking a good young starter on either side, and let Fant walk. It is the sort of flexibility JD loves. Plus, the Jets could start banking compensatory picks if Fant walks.

Like I said before after GM hired our Coaches last year..Ill give them 3 years to turn arkund Jets to be competitive team. Year 2 coming. While Im very happy with Draft we are still way behind the other teams in division as a whole. No Center, no Vet number 1 WR, no big beast true RB or FB and will Beckton be back to normal. Thats just the Offensive side. Defense have a legit pass rushing attack, will rookie CBs be able to be good enough in first year to stop Divisions 3 good Offeses with 2 good WRs? Im hoping Zack will break out without a Vet number 1 WR and bond with rookie WR who might be confusex on rout running in this complicated Offense. Zack will have more weapons but will they be able to catch passes unlike last year. Im hoping that everything comes together and shock NY Media and if not Im fine with another year of wait and see. I really feel Johnsons hired the right GM and Coaches and believe in everyone Draftes last year and this year for Jets to take us Fans back to Rexs first 2 years of great exciting play. I want to see Zack doubters AKA Darnold lovers,Sanchez loves to eat crow just like they didnt want QB Josh Allen over Darnold...lmao. we are all Jets fans tired of being ashamed and em'bare"assed by Division foes. LETS GO JETS!

Regarding the LB’s, the jury is still out on Nasirldeen and Sherwood. Both got injured and you just don’t know how that’s gonna work out. I’m not convinced that these smaller, faster safety converts can make that transition. I know it worked in SF, but I’m still unconvinced at this point.

I’m much more optimistic about the o-line. McGovern and Fant played well last season. Fant played LT particularly well, and I expect him to stay there. Becton can play RT and I think he’ll thrive there. He’s got pancake run blocking ability.

If our oline can stay relatively healthy they can be a very formative crew with Becton as the key. With him they are deadly and without him, they become average at best.

You're not the only one. I've been saying that since last year - and often.
GMF keeps saying the Jets scheme is to let the DL pick off the blockers and let the linebackers tackle the running backs.
But a big back with momentum can steamroll a smaller tackler.
I found this out the hard way when I had to tackle Calvin Hill in a prep game many years ago.
I may still have his cleat marks on my chest, next to that huge bruise.
