This rookie QB class this year and beyond!

Yes it's just pre-season so there's no reason to stamp anything in stone or even take to much from it but so far, all these first round rookies look like they have goods. Well let me clarify, at the least being a decent starter to potential HOFer. Hard to say who will be what but at a first glance in these two games, Zack and Fields are no doubt leading the pack. Lawrence looks very good to me also but his team sucks more than life it self right now and he's running for his life every other play. Mac is doing very well unfortunately but should we expect anything less. He's playing for Belibitch and whether he creates them in a lab or actually coaches them up, he gets the best out his QBs. Lance is a work in progress but you can see with a year or two of experience, he has the potential to be a superstar.

What's gets me is how they or some of these sports pundits big up (meaning speak so highly or promote) Fields as to what he is doing is super spectacular and what Wilson is doing is basic but excellent! Now I get it because that's exactly what he's doing but what Zach is doing is actually more impressive to me. Now a few people I've heard did say Zach looks more impressive, Steven A. Smith said that after week 1.

What Zach is doing looks so fluid and easy. It's what a coaching staff will ask of a QB in the actually games and he's pulling it off with ease. He has total command of the offense, converting 3rd downs like water and putting up points. He's pretty much done it every possession he's been on the field. What Fields is doing looks like back yard football or highlight plays drawn up that normally wouldn't be seen in pre-season.

Am I wrong here or do you see what I'm seeing and hearing???

I'm not impressed with Lawrence so far - he doesn't look fluid and everything has been short range. Downfield throws is where we will see just how well these QBs are seeing the field. Most are being protected by plays called and quick releases. Even Zach is being instructed to get rid of quickly. I don't think we are going to get a true sense of how they are progressing until real games are played. I see indecisiveness from Lawrence so far. I see strong conviction from Zach. But time will tell

Indecisiveness from Lawrence seems to be of his oline not giving him anytime to see the field. He seems to have someone in his face every other play. He's scrambling most plays and getting the ball to his guys in most cases, but it seems like he has to scramble to do it because his oline sucks. Could be the play calling as well. Give him time like Zach has had and he'll probably be lights out, just like we've seen from Zach. Anyway, I'm impressed with all these guys and this QB class might be the best one yet. STRONG STATEMENT I KNOW but it's a possibility and only time will tell!

let's see if Lawrence organically scans the field and can look off defenders. Last night I saw locked into primary and protection broke down if he was covered and Lawrence couldn't function smoothly.

any QB looks good if the primary read is open - it's those that flourish finding the 2nd-3rd-4th option that win

I get that and can't debate it, guess we'll just have to see.

The season is about the begin and all these QBs has shown their worth so far. Yes it's just pre-season I know but all they can do is play the games and players in front of them. Max Kellerman from ESPN, First Take show stated that this may be the best rookie class to ever be drafted. Hard not to agree that now but you can't disagree with that either. QBs are so far and ahead of where they were during the Marino, Elway and Kelly days. College teams just didn't throw the ball then like they do now and those 3 HOFers were true diamonds in the ruff. Figure me if I'm missing anyone other drafts but I just can't think of any that can touch that 1983 QB draft, but this one just might do it.

Lawrence has the goods, you can clearly see it. It's that his team sucks, so if they can fix that he will be just fine. That may not might happen until Meyers is gone. Zack has shown his worth so far and looks the best of them all, IMO! Lance is struggling a bit but you can see that with a season or two under his belt, he'll be ready for the primetime. Fields looks like a beast in the making and everyone in Chicago or who roots for the Bears wants him to start day 1. Jones looks like he is Brady reincarnated. Hopefully without all the success! If these guys keep progressing as they have shown so far, we may have no choice but to recognize them in the 1983 light!

Cam Newton released from the Patriots, WOW!!!

This is what I told you guys that this may be the best rookie drafted class ever. I started a thread on this awhile back in fact. The fact that the Patriots cut Newton for Jones says a lot. Cam played well during the preseason. There was no reason to cut Cam unless Belibitch was that confident in this kid. We all knew he’s done very well with his QB decisions over the past 20 years.

Now you have 3 no doubt game 1 starters from this class and we all knew Justin Fields and Trey Lance will be starting by week 8 at the latest this year. From that point on all these QBs won’t see the bench for the rest of their careers, barring injuries. That’s five bonified starters from this rookie class from their rookie year for another 15 years at least most likely. Impressive!!!
