I know there are other threads related to the topic, sorry!

Round 1 Pick 6
Vic Beasley OLB Clemson
Jets needs an Edge Rusher, there will be 5 good Edge Rushers on the board at 6. I think the trade for Brandon Marshall and the corps of young WRs with potential on the Jets roster (Owasu, Powell, Enunwa, Evans, Hakim, and TJ Graham who is still only 25) tip the scale from WR to Edge Rusher. Could also be Shane Ray, Randy Gregory, Bud Dupree, or Fowler, of course, if he slips

Round 2 Pick 37
Jalen Strong WR Arizona St
Jets passed on a WR at 6 so they turn around and get one of 4-5 solid WRs still on the board at 37. Nelson Agholor from USC or Phillip Dorsett from Miami will be the pick here if either is still around, which they won't be. But Strong would be a really nice addition to a very promising WR group. Could also be Green-Beckham or Devin Smith from Ohio State, who I really like

Round 3 Pick 70
Bryce Petty QB Baylor
We all know the Jets are taking a QB somewhere in the 1st 3 rounds. Petty and/or Grayson should still be on the board at the top of the 3rd. Either would be in a great position to come in, ride the pine, learn the ropes, and compete for a starting spot down the road. Would I fall on the floor in disbelief if it was Sean Mannion from Oregon St? No

Round 4 Pick 104
Cody Prewitt S Mississippi
I don't think we NEED a safety, but Prewitt is a highly productive, solid citizen type who can play special teams and could beat out 1 of the 3 of Jarrett, Allen, and Miles for a roster spot

Round 7 Pick 223
Trey DePriest LB Alabama
Hard nosed and smart player. He'll compete for a spot at inside LB and help on special teams.

Round 7 Pick 224
Marcus Murphy RB Missouri
Bowles and Gailey both said they would look for a 3rd down back to come in and compete. Ok, well, here's one for you - Dee Hart from Colorado State is another option

I'd be perfectly happy with the first two rounds, and while I'd rather just skip QBs this draft, I'd still be excited if the Jets took one (because it would imply they believed in him).

Won't pretend to know anything about the last three guys, but would have liked to see OL in there somewhere . . .

We should all be really happy if the draft went this way. Cody Prewitt in round 4 might be wishful thinking. I think an OL or RB there is a more likely bet. I like Jalen Strong and wouldn't complain one bit if we landed him. My only knock on him is that he is so similar to what we already have with Decker and Marshall. I wonder if we'll put a bigger premium on a "stretch the field" kind of guy, if we go WR that high.

HYATT™

If Mariota is off the board, the Jets have a huge decision to make.
Do they waste the #6 pick on over-drafting Bud Dupree, a TRUE #1 type WR, (when so many will still be available further down the board), or trade back to get an extra high pick and perhaps an extra middle rounder as well?

Given HYATT™'s evaluation on Mariota, (sorry, not impressed), it's clear that the trade-back option is far more preferable.
With the right trade-back to a later Rd 1 pick & perhaps a further trade-up scenario at the end of Rd 1 or early Rd 2, the Jets could still end up with their choice of WR Jalen Strong/WR Breshad Perriman/WR Dorial Green-Beckham AND pass rusher Eli Harold after the top of Rd 2.

Any mix&match from that list of 5 players would be considered an "A" graded draft all by itself.

As GM, it'd be an extremely active trade day for HYATT™, who'd be looking to jump back into Rd 2 to grab a top OL player like Duke RG Laken Tomlinson before the #70 pick, which will LIKELY be too late to get Tomlinson.

If Mariota IS still on the board at #6, any GM would still have to look very hard at reaping the whirlwind in trade offers from a team desperate to get him.
It's completely within the realm of possibility that CLE offers up both Rd 1 picks for him, (#12 & #19), or at least #12 + #43 - but beyond CLE there isn't really any serious contender to offer the Jets a top pick in Rd 2 in addition to a later Rd 1 pick that could solidify the Eli Harold pick after passing on Dupree and Mariota.

QB-needy teams for a Mariota trade at #6.
While Trampa, TEN, & WAS, could all use a new QB, they also have the opportunity to draft Mariota before the Jets are on the board - hence not realistic trade partners.

#10+#41 St. Louis Rams
#12/#19+#43 Cleveland Browns
#15+#51+[2016] Rd 4) Houston Texans
#17 San Diego Chargers, (which would involve surrendering picks in exchange for Phillip Rivers instead, which the Jets definitely do not want to do this year for a 1 one year lease on a QB)
#20+#52 (+ one of #113/#145/#156 or [2016] Rd 3) Philadelphia Eagles

These are the teams a GM has to view as possible trade partners in any Mariota deal & the odds are not good that a single trade-back deal improves the Jets position to collect extra play-maker prospects in Rd 1, though it does open up a strong possibility of getting an extra one in the upper half of Rd 2 if it's used to draft either a top interior OG or a 2nd top WR.

You couldn't fault the Jets front office for trading back for #10+#41, picking #10 Jalen Strong (CHI will draft Alvin Dupree at #7) - then trading back into late Rd 1, (using the #37 or #41 pick), to land Eli Harold, then spending the other #37 or #41 pick on RG Laken Tomlinson in Rd 2.
That'd be a 3-fer & no matter if the Jets phoned the rest of the draft in from Miami beach, they'd still grade out as one of the strongest draft classes of the year.

+1. Question, I'm hearing Gregory is the second best pass rusher and overall LB/DE talent behind Fowler Jr., wouldn't take the chance in drafting him or did his off the field baggage kill that chance?

Note: I would replace the safety with a o-linemen and really draft a o-linemen in the third and forth round.
