Here’s what so crazy about all of this, as good as Darnold has played, Bridgewater has played better. Don’t know if I should say significantly better but noticiably better would be a better word for it. Bridgewater has pretty much been perfect this preseason and I don’t think anyone can argue that. Only difference is Darnold has been right on his heels and that’s very impressive for a 21 year old rookie. With that being the case, you can’t argue with them starting the rookie. Especially with this being a non playoff team this year. Now if this was a potential or guaranteed playoff team then you have to go with Bridgewater but it’s not, so Darnold it is I guess. You gotta love this because the Jets have never been in a position like this. A 39 year old decent QB, a 25 year old franchise caliber QB and a 21 year old franchise caliber QB. When the fuck did something like this ever happen to the Jets, am I dreaming or what here???
It is unprecedented. I don’t recall the Jets ever having three plug-in-and-play options at QB. All three could start, and do a good job.
An amazing development for this star-crossed team. I’m glad I don’t have to listen to all the former players on pregame shows say, “the Jets have good defense, and a good running game...but who’s their QB?”
No more. This conundrum is finally answered.
