I guess all the hype about Cooks will now end. Two days ago, he was all world. Now it was a brilliant trade by that genius Belichick.
hope the Patriots aren't looking to jump up into the Top 5...

My concern as well. They've been accumulating picks for a reason and you know they would love to sneak in and steal the player that they believe the Jets are after.
don't get it wrong they have major needs and even moving up to the teens to get a player like Mike McGlinchey (Left Tackle) could be in play after Solder signed with the Giants...
That is true as well. Solder, even though they downplayed it some, was a big loss to them. They have lost several key players that will need replacing. The QB isn't an immediate need even though they need to start grooming Brady's replacement soon. Belichick has been checking out the top QBs in the draft quite a bit. So.......it's really difficult to second guess a guy like him.
Brady said “this Cooks guy isn’t really working out for me. He’s not Amendola or Welker. I think it’s time to move him”.

I don’t see this happening. NE isn’t the type of team to trade away lots of high draft picks for a player like this. Yes, they got Randy Moss and that worked out alright. But NE just dumped Cooks ahead of his contract expiring, with big money demands coming next year. They don’t want to pay guys. They’d usually rather reload with other no-names and get rid of players a year early. (Seymour, Milloy, Cooks, etc)
I’ve gotta admit though, Brady to OBJ is a scary thought. He’s a knucklehead, but he’s still among the deadliest WR’s in the NFL.

I don't think the Patriots have the Ammo to move up to the second spot at this point. They have 2 late first rounders, 23 and 31, 2 later 2nd round picks ,43 and 63 , a late third , no 4th or 5th , 2 late 6th and a 7th.
The Bills have much more draft capital ,and their picks hold more value.
Cooks brought more in return in trade than he cost last season and is due a big contract next season. One NE would not be willing to pay.
NE is still stacked at WR so losing Cooks won't have any impact on their offense. Edleman, Hogan, Patterson, Slater, Britt, Dorsett, Mitchell, and Jordan Matthews. Plus a couple of other bodies in the mix. If anything, a trade up to the middle of the first for Ruldoph is possible but Belichick loves to add picks so who knows, he could even trade back with one of the first and second to aquire more picks.

One of the two first rounds will be used on an either a defensive lineman, or linebacker that they feel can be long term... possible defensive back but rarely have they taken one last one was McCourty... But what they are known to do is to trade down if they have multiple first rounds... The majority of the players they have worked out so far, either pro day or private workouts have been second round and third round talent...
