Trade Proposal

Muhammad Wilkerson, Devin Smith and the 20th Pick in the Draft to Cleveland for the #2 Pick in the Draft.

With the #2 Pick we select Carson Wentz or Jared Goff, probably Wentz, but the Titans are not taking a QB so we have first dibs, we can choose the guy we want, and even if some team trades into the #1 spot, we are still assured one of these potential franchise QB's in the 2-hole.

DE and WR just happens to be two big needs for the Browns, its arguably their two biggest needs assuming they feel good about RG3 at QB, and they get to fill DE with an all-pro caliber player in his prime. Smith is a local kid (Ohio State) who can stretch the field, a recent high 2nd RD Pick who still has a nice upside if he can stay healthy. And they get to stay in the first round with this trade as well. They don't lose their first round pick entirely, they simply slide down the board 18 spots.

Of course this only makes sense for Cleveland if Hue Jackson is committed to RG3, and he's still a young QB.

I don't think any qb in this draft warrants that kind of payday. I think that would be very foolish.
I'd equate it to betting your paycheck for a month on a lottery ticket.

I think Cleveland wants a young qb. When you're team is in complete rebuild mode and you have the 2nd pick, it may be the only shot you get at your choice of qbs.

i'm hearing the differences between 1st to mid round QB picks in
this draft is negligible..

i think we all agree mac has a good eye for talent, so from that standpoint i would feel pretty good about your proposed deal..

tell you what though, a GM absolutely can not "swing & miss" on a deal like this.....

there is no way the Jets offer that to the Browns...

and there is no way the Browns make that trade especially since they just signed that bridge QB to develop their prospect the right way...

what are you smoking? seriously
Instead of being snarky, why don't you tell me whats wrong with the offer?

Too generous?

Not generous enough?

Even NFLN Path to the Draft are discussing possible trade scenarios with Tennessee or Cleveland, teams that might want to move up for Carson Wentz, I simply opened the same conversation here with what I thought was a pretty realistic offer.

to be honest, we are not in the position to break the bank for a QB like Wentz, Goff or even Lynch... offering Mo isn't enough with our No. 20 pick to move up 18 spots...

Rams, Browns are notable options for the top two picks... Wouldn't be surprised as we draw closer to the draft to hear Denver flirting with the idea of moving up to the 18th pick to jump ahead of us to be in the seat to grab Lynch who oddly enough has similar size, strength and overall ability to the quarterback they just lost in free agency to the Texans...

For us to move up 18 spots it will likely take our No. 20, our 51st and future 2017 1st along with Mo Wilkerson and if that is acceptable to move up to grab a QB like Wentz then it should be a possibility but I just don't see the worth... Yes Wentz has the size, strength, athleticism and pro readiness that makes him tantalizing but something is bothering me about his overall body of work, I just can not place it but my instincts says he isn't worth that type of trade up to take him... If he fell to No. 10, then maybe a deal with the Giants could be in the works where we give our 51st plus Mo for their No. 10...

I offered Mo, #20 and Devin Smith, a TOP 40 Pick (37) just last year.

If Mo was in this draft he would easily be a TOP 10 Pick, and he's still young and in his prime, it also fills a huge need for the Browns. Smith was injured for much of his rookie season, but he was a high 2 and he still has a high ceiling. WR is also a massive need for the Browns. Throw in the 20th Pick and I think its a very fair offer.

You might be right, I totally forgot that he tore his ACL

In that case I agree that it will take more than this, maybe if we throw in next years 2

unfortunately what I took away from Wentz's Pro Day today is the Browns are more than likely grabbing him with No. 2 pick being they got their bridge QB in RGIII they can develop Carson without throwing him into the fire right away...

Pep Hamilton in both Goff & Wentz Pro Days made them throw a wet football after their scripted workouts, they were pleased with both... If a team is too jump ahead of the Browns giving up the kitchen sink to trade with the Titans for that No. 1 would be to take Wentz which I think from what I heard the Browns would be more than satisfied to take Goff if Wentz is off the board...

Now in another move the Browns could move up from No. 2 to No. 1 to ensure they get Wentz if they feel threatened a team like the Rams could jump them for Wentz... Basically would have to give up a 3rd to move up one spot... Then Titans could double down from No. 1 to No. 2 to whatever stock piling, that is the word I have been getting from my buddies around the league...

Thats an interesting scenario. If that first trade happens and Cleveland takes Wentz #1, then we could offer Tennessee a similar package to the one we've discussed and try to move up for Goff. I'd move up for either one of them.

I like Goff but I don't know why I think this but he reminds me of Sanchez maybe more pro ready than when Mark came out... think it's the whole west coast quarterback that will have issues in cold weather games and with us being on the east coast he might not fair well...

all honesty since last year to now even tho he had a below average senior campaign Connor Cook still is a better suited option and from what I am reading he would be available with our 51st selection...

Not necessary. Good God Ham why would we move up for some very suspect QB's? Absolutely no.

a former offensive rookie of the year is now a "bridge QB" on his second team still in his mid 20's..

Jerry glanville nailed it when he call the NFL an acronym for "not for long.."

When we say a team won't do it .....I would not be so quick to say that......there are reasons why some teams stink all the time or for many years...........As I always say winning teams win & losing teams lose. Or as W.C. Fields (no not joe Fields Brother) said never give a sucker an even break or there is a sucker born everyday. Redsox & Ruth.....Took them 87 years to get over that one.

Lets see what big mac can do? I still say he pulls a rabbit out of the hat......It is Easter

Look what happened to the Giants when they let Lombardi, Landry & Maynard go

We would be giving up an awful lot to gamble on a bad qb class. We have limited picks and a gm who values picks.

Ham, I don't think its enough to move up to #2. The #6 pick would be stretching it. Mo is coming off an injury and wants Suh money, Smith torn ACL, S.F. and Philly both may be looking for a QB and the Jets are in a "Win Now" mode. I don't see us moving up for a QB.
