I don't know if they will be 5-3, but they will be night and day better without Justin Fields on the field. He was the worst QB the Jets have had in many decades and thats saying something. Geno is at least a competent NFL QB or he was.

To be honest, I have absolutely no confidence in Geno and it’s probably because I actually do want him to fail. I’m hoping and praying that Klubnik will actually be our answer and the Jets won’t need to draft the quarterback next year or for the next 15-20 years!

However, I am not ignorant at all to the fact that this will MOST LIKELY not be the case and both Klubnik and Geno will be garbage this year. So we’ll just see where the chips will fall. I think at the least, we’ll see both quarterbacks on the field for at least 5-6 games a piece.

The Jets should then be able to make more than a good determination on whether or not Klubnik actually has something or not. That’s about the best that we can ask for at this point. Now is Geno a much better quarterback than Justin Fields and more competent?

Yes I’ll give you that but Geno’s not even a true bridge quarterback for us for the next two or three years. This year, either Klubnik shows the Jets that he is our QB of the future or the Jets will be drafting someone in 2027. That’s the way I see it!

5-3 is a REAL STRETCH IMO. Either Geno is playing his ass off or everyone else on the field, offense and defense is carrying him and he’s enjoying the ride.

True point! The problem with that is I don’t see Geno as being a mentor that can play well enough for the Jets for a season, let alone 2 seasons. While Klubnik watches and learns. I believe Geno will get bench or hurt, if not suspended and we will see Klubnik this year for a significant amount of games. I say at least 6 games. I just hopes he’s ready for the challenge.

This is what I am hoping for in the end.
Reich is key.
Hopefully they are competitive in every game.
That's all you can ask for at this point in the rebuild.
I believe 2027 they will take a step up.
That will be the year they win 7-8 games.
The 2027 draft will be loaded and if the Jets don't have to draft a QB they could put 3 1st rounders at skill positions on either side of the ball.

The good thing is Cade was drafted right where you have always wanted them to draft a QB. If it works out then thats amazing. If not it didn't cost us anything.

I see GS as a QB who can (bc he has) be a distributor to solid weaponry behind a (what appears to be) solid O-line. Geno did this in SEATT and was upper echelon QB. Perhaps I'm giving too much credit to the weaponry & line who haven't proven a thing. but I don't see our O as the Geno Smith show. If that's the case, we are going to have an enjoyable season as fans.

I'm fairly certain that Frank Reich is a well respected Offensive Coordinator. After meeting and coaching GS in their first mini-camp as OC & QB, FR had nothing but praise for GS's preparation, knowledge of the game, and (I quote FR) "his football IQ".

Yup, no bout a doubt it, you're way smarter and more of an Offensive football savant than FR. It would be interesting to hear what our OC would have to say about Geno's 2 wins. I'm betting on him not blaming Geno for only two wins. I have a feeling that when he watched him, on tape, in a Raider uniform, he cringed at the O-Line play, lack of running game, and lopsided scores that forced the Raiders into a one dimensional Offense allowing D's to tee off on Geno. Please forgive me for taking Reich seriously.
PS, even with the trash he edured, his star line wasn't awful...
It's better than anything we've seen since 2015 AND if we had him in Aaron's 4 play year, we'd still be celebrating a SB victory. Can you imagine our D that year plus an 84.7 passer as our QB?

@jets82, we began our fandom at the same time. We experienced a few fun years to be a fan. I remember those feelings very well. One of my best friends( Dolphin season ticket holder) accurately told me I was going to have the most fun as a Jet fan
I'd ever had just prior to the 98 season. I was excited about giving Glenn Foley a shot to see if he had some magic. Chris said Vinny is going to be special with Martin and all of your receivers. He brought me to the Sunday night game in Miami. Can't wait to see what he says about Geno. I think we are in for something similar. FTR, I had same instinct in 2015 after Geno left and Fitz-magic happened. Let's see.
