No, you’re missing my point. That year with Vinny, they had a championship caliber team. They were capable of beating anybody that year. They had a veteran team of All-Pros. They just needed a quarterback to do his part and lead them.
Vinny was the perfect man for the job. We don’t have that type of team this year. They are young for the most part and don’t appear to have the dogs that are vicious enough to beat everyone. They can build to be that way in a few years but not this year.
So if I’m correct in my thinking, than what’s the point of Geno having an average or even an above average year and this team winning 6-8 games. If they can do that with Klubnik, if he’s capable of doing that for them, then why not let the rookie play?
Now I’ll admit that I’m MOST LIKELY making to much of this and Klubnik won’t be anymore then just a decent back up. That may very well be the case but if he can be the guy, I would think he would shows signs of that this year. Whether that’s game one or game ten.
