That is the question people are asking right now. He initially removed all mention of the 49ers from his social media pages. And now his brother has stated that we are asking for a trade. Smoke screen maybe but now that his brother has opened Pandora's box could this be the next move that Joe Douglas is all in on. Remember Deebo was drafted when Saleh and Company were with the 49ers, LaFleur has hand on experience with Deebo and this offense would thrive with him in it but there is another Shanahan disciple in the AFC East in Mike Caldwell with the Dolphins, so it could be two former 49er assistants that Samuel could look to force his way out towards? or is he just done on the West Coast?

Just say no
his brother got yelled at for making that statement now claiming it was a joke but we seen this story before, family run their mouth lose any leverage the player has with the team.

Seriously though you know I don't want to trade for any receiver rather draft our own and develop them, we have potential on the roster we need not to be paying $30 M annual for a what if player.

I think this is posturing by Deebo’s team. Just a guess. He’s playing hardball. But with that said…

I would be all over this if I’m JD. Give up the 10th overall and a 2023 pick. Deebo would be a HUGE pickup. He’d fit our offense perfectly. I’d pay him fat money for a 4-5 year deal. Zach Wilson would thrive with this dude and Elijah Moore.

I’d take Deebo over any WR prospect at #10 without hesitation. He’s proven.

I wanna add 2 receivers to this roster . A compliment for Moore and someone to take the pressure off Berrios. My two choices are Dotson and Melton . I have options but those two are my preferred 1st options.

you know I like both guys especially since I got up and close with them at their pro days.

another name is local prospect, grew up in Brooklyn went to Pittsburgh didn't have huge success but they are interested in him. Taysir Mack. There is one more that I know for certain MLF likes a lot and is Khalil Shakir.

I want Dotson but would settle for Melton if Jahan is off the board. Melton and lets say Shakir even Doubs would be optimal.

Berrios will get more offensive snaps but not because of the receivers taken will because I truly believe they will add a CB in this draft but Columbia Lion Will Allen Jr. averaged 38 yards per kick return, and showcased well as a punt returner. Reasons I believe they love having Braxton's type of drive on offense would take the pressure off Denzel Mims to be forced to produce rather come along at his own pace and down the stretch be a factor.

love Jahan's fearlessness thrives all over the field but is willing to head into traffic over the middle and being he is considered undersize can not teach toughness.

not so much he is didn't look great at his pro day. seemed rigid on slant routes not like he was wearing pads or was being covered and he seemed stiff in his cuts. but over the shoulder tracking down field he seems comfortable but long speed is questionable.

understand players that are known for route running they are smooth in and out of their breaks. no wasted motions, first cut is definitive and opens up the separation on that first step that is what Jahan Dotson, Bo Melton, Romeo Doubs and Khalil Shakir have done consistently at the college level. there are others like Jack Sorenson, Jalen Tolbert, Taysir Mack, Slade Bolden and Danny Gray that produce that silkiness route running. UCLA Kyle Philips has that too but not consistent enough to be that guy, similarities in his game remind me of Hunter Renfro

What’s your take on Metchie

What’s your take on Metchie

Needs Improvement, his faults:
Metchie fails to secure the ball in contested catch situations. In addition, he didn’t routinely hold onto the ball through contact. He doesn’t always fight his way through traffic with ease in the middle of the field. There were several examples where he would bump into defenders and even his teammates while running his route. Those physicality issues may cause problems when faced with an increase in press coverage in the NFL, something he hasn’t been subjected to so far in his two-season collegiate career.
What he is known for his positives:
Metchie is a genuine speed threat at the wide receiver position. He can get downfield in a hurry, and once open, there’s very little chance that he’s going to be caught. His speed gives him the ability to create and maintain separation at all three levels of the field. In addition to his speed, Metchie displays impressive route-running ability. He exhibits quick football work and excellent change of direction, which enables him to fake out coverage, allowing for even greater separation.
Metchie probably will be a better slot guy for teams with big tall receivers lining up on the perimeter, has that deceptive long speed kind of the same player as Jaylen Waddle. Problem is like I stated in his faults would say he is not willing to go into traffic with confidence and poise. If we were draft two players he could be the second guy but he will be draft on day 2. For me Jahan all day long over Metchie just with his competitive toughness over powers Metchie by a mile.

I agree with this 1000%. Im tired of paying guys for what they did for another team. Let us enjoy that rookie contract for a change.

We have this year and probably next with Wilson on his rookie contract to build up this team via the draft and with cheaper younger free agents . Hopefully if Wilson shows acceptable development this season we can begin to augment the roster with strategic high end free agents to take us to that next level

i'm good with douglas' approach to putting talent around wilson.. we know he's frugal but he loved the hill opportunity & went for it.. if he also loves samual i can work with that as well.. that & lafluer & salah wouldn't be guessing on the guys mindset..

as big a fan i am of the guy, i don't see him getting another chance to draft another QB at the top of the draft.. i don't think woody does either..

If I'm understanding you correctly, I don't see any realistic scenario where JD drafts a QB this year let alone with a premium pick.

I do especially if this coming season progresses the way I expect . I expect this season to give us clarity about the 2020 and 2021 draft especially regarding Becton and Mims . Then if the 2022 draft gives us what we expect, it would make JD the most successful GM this organization has had ever .
