Adams is the heart of this team. Mosely and Bell are here because of him.
Our safety duo is the one bright spot on this roster.
Adams sometimes tries to do too much and misses an assignment, (why he was benched last night) but is only going to get better.
He loves the game, hates to lose. That's the kind of players you need to succeed.

I'm noticing that your not the only one who feels this way but TCT, you really can get over the top with your analogies and it gets annoying. Now I know that you don't care about that and I'm not trying to start a website war with you but DAMN man, RELAX! Both our safeties are better then average and Adams is an elite one. No he's not a playmaking turnover machine but he's only 23-24 years old. He may grow into that. What he is, is a tackling machine and playmaker in other ways. He's always around the ball and he's a leader for that team. That's something that's hard to come by. Maye when healthy is more of an playing turnover type safety. He's an excellent cover safety as well. Not ever player any GM or coach drafts is going to be all world, no matter what round they draft them in. Our safeties are no where near the issue, our corners are and trading either one away our safeties (especially Adams) would not be a smart move.
if adams does not grow into that after we extend him, would you still pay him like a superstar on his 2nd contract?? because make no mistake, that's what it will take..

i know some differ on this but i still don't believe either safety is a premium position in the NFL..

unless they are exceptional..

i could rattle off the list but we all know the names..

Are our bright spots good because the weak spots are so weak? I too am not sold on Adams. He could be good but is he a super star not yet.

The only name you ever here around the ball is Adams. I like the kid and he wants to win. probably should trade him because he won'y win here. We are so so bad and need so many players. I have a hard time getting rid of the few good ones we have. Nobody is going to come to this team and not be frustrated. We are all frustrated, imagine being a jet player, a good one at that and knowing that no matter how hard you fight, no matter what you do, you will still lose. We now this is an 0-7 at least, team. the players now it too. I can't even imagine how Gase can get anybody up for this next game where they will be better than a 20 point underdog. I wish they could just mail in the lose, not show up on the short week, rest up and move on to the next game. we had injuries vs. the Browns, what do you think our dire enemy is going to try and do to us once they're up 35-0? beat us up and run the score up more

this season is over and it's week 2 .It's hard to watch and it's got to be even harder to play..

true. but as usual, the defense is also on the field the whole game which has become a Jet tradition. Of course if the offense actually did something, then the defense would give up the game winning drive anyway. also a Jets tradition

& i'm not over the moon with my non playmaker safety being a look at me kind of a guy.. off the field?? be as big a ham as you want to.. why should give a shit??

but on the field it inevitably leads to the missed tackles trying to blow people up..

or more specifically, the 15 yards he got on mayfield because lighting him up (on 3rd down no less) was too much to turn down.. especially on national TV..

I've been told I'm over the top before, but the funny thing is I'm right a better part of the time. They could trade Adams to the Cowboys for a way more important CB. Or the Redskins for a way more important LT. For the people that say he is the heart of this team. Well this team signed Mosley because he is a true leader that makes big time plays. If we didn't lose him to a groin injury we would have beaten the Bills. If we lost Adams it would have no impact on our win total. Teams are still lighting up this secondary because Adams has almost zero impact. I'm not saying he sucks. I'm saying he is above average, but makes no difference to this team. Maybe some team would love him and we could get something help build this team.

In 2019, who a player does or doesn’t follow on social media becomes fodder for conversations and that’s what happened with Jets safety Jamal Adams on Tuesday.

Adams reportedly unfollowed the Jets on Instagram in the wake of Monday night’s 23-3 loss to the Browns. Adams was on the bench for the final five plays of that loss and confirmed during an appearance on WFAN Tuesday afternoon that he was benched.

“I tried to anticipate a play and anticipated it wrong. They benched me,” Adams said.

With other players pushing for getting trades around the league, the benching/social media double whammy could have some wondering if Adams is looking for an exit from the Jets. While Adams was less forthcoming about anything having to do with his social media proclivities and sounded down about the general state of affairs around the team, he didn’t say he wanted to go anywhere else.

He called the social media issue “outside noise” multiple times and said that he’s “just focused on this team.” That team has had a brutal start to the season, but Adams said he still believed the team can be a winner.

“I strongly believe so. It’s a special place. It’s a special atmosphere at MetLife,” Adams said. “We just have to get it together. . . . We just have to keep fighting.”

The next fight comes in New England this Sunday and people will be calling for the towel well before the final bell if the Jets look the way they did on Monday night.

He is so overrated. Trade him now. Our defense in the 3 years with him has not gotten any better. Maye might be better than Adams actually. If we don't trade Adams now we will regret it when we pay him a big contract. His one thing he brought was leadership, but the Jets brought in his replacement in Mosley. Trade him for a 1st or get a LT or CB in return. One scenario would be to trade him to the Cowboys for Byron Jones. The other would be to trade him to the Redskins for Trent Williams. Both of those players I would rather have than Adams.

I agree with you. These Players have to realize that being Drafted in top 15 you are going to a poor to bad team thats rebuilding. Its silly to want to only play on a good team to start. Pats was horrible since early 60's and wasnt till 90's they became good. Why does these younger players only want to play for a good team? Because maybe being surrounded by good players so no one will notice you are not as good as you were Drafted. Everyone wants to start on top now. No one any more wants to make a bad team better or cry let me out. Pathetic babies. 1968-69 Jets and 69 Mets were both not supposed to be good with Players on those teams and look what happened a Super Bowl and World Series Championships. Imagine if all the good Players on those teams like Namath and Seaver said they wanted off those so called bad teams? They made poor and average Players elevate their Play to win! Jets vs Colts who had the number 1 Offense and Defense with only 1 loss to Browns they Destroyed in playoffs later by 40ty and Jets beat them because Namath influenced Jets Players to play harder by guaranteeing a Jets win. This Jets team and best Players can do the same, or they can groan about being on a losing team that they are part of the blame.

I'm good with that. However, many on here say we need a CB and there is one in Dallas that would make more of an impact than Adams. Everyone also says we need a LT and Trent Williams will make more of an impact. All I'm saying is everyone is tradeable and if will help the team more than keeping Adams then why wouldn't you want to do that. Safety is so low of an impact position.

so i'm not the only one here that sees it that way..

also the national media coverage of adams seems contrived.. it's like they got the memo the he's the one jet who can be showered with universal fluffy praise from them..

The league thinks Adams is great so lets use that to get a 1st round pick, CB or LT.

I've had the same thought since last season. Whether it's the pre-game or during the telecast, you can count on them heaping a boatload of praise on Adams. On Monday, so help me, they made a comment on how Adams and his play reminds them of a HOF safety who I can't remember. I was like, what? I mean Adams is a good safety, but HOF? Come on, folks.
