What a sad sad story this is. Woody or Chris or both hire this asshole Gase who didn’t want Bell in the first place. He doesn’t know how to develop Darnold or any of the garbage or possibly good weapons we have. Other than Mekhi, they can’t block for Darnold for him to even attempt to make something happen. If the oline could, at this point Darnold couldn’t anyway under Gase.
The defense sucks, they sign C.J. Mosley who apparently doesn’t want to play for us either. He hasn’t done it the two years he’s been here and to add salt to the wound, this team is destined for 0-16 and possibly drafting another QB that they will ruin also. Unless they hire the proper coaching staff, which the Johnson’s don’t seem to be able to do! This is just a sad sad story!

Mac was the only bidder and he went on to outbid himself.
He is due the balance of this season as it is guaranteed. However any money he receives from his new team, provided he plays this season is deducted from his money due from the Jets due to the offset language in his contract.From time to time, a team will announce that it plans to release a player. Then, before actually releasing the player, the team will find a trade partner.
That may be what the Jets are trying to do with running back Le'Veon Bell.
His release won’t become official until Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. ET. Before then, a team that hopes to secure dibs on Bell can try to work out a deal pursuant to which the Jets would get something/anything and the Jets would pay the difference between the amount the new team is willing to pay Bell and the balance of his 2020 compensation.
For Bell, it’s far better at this point to be cut. By rule, he can claim the balance of his 2020 salary ($6 million) from the Jets as termination pay, and he can then pocket whatever he earns from another team, double-dip style.
Before that happens, the Jets have to cut Bell. Before that happens, no last-ditch suitors will have to emerge, hopeful to get Bell now in lieu of having to compete with others on the open market once Bell otherwise becomes a free agent.

JD is sniveling away every penny he can for 2021 and 2022. 1/2 the league will be Over The Cap. 8-9 will barely be able to sign their draft class. That means on top of the current FAs there will be dozens more on the market at discount prices.

his contract written by former GM Maccagnan put in variables like $8 M gtd on injury for 2021 which made it impossible to trade... No one wanted to take that guarantee...

Gase never wanted him and was one of three reasons he got Mike Maccagnan fired...

He was way overpaid. And never a leader. He said the right things right up to the start of the season. Once he was playing out his last guaranteed money it changed. Even last season he took to twitter a few times, had the bowling party on the eve before the game, to sick to practice....not showing up for camp, the 2 insta Ho's while teammates were busting their ass in camp. Now the youngster following his lead liking instagram post. This also happened in Pittsburgh with him...
I think your completely wrong about the Jets being willing to pay most of his salary too. It's been reported they would have to pay a portion for any team to consider a trade but not that they would. If Bell is still a top RB and team leader, surely one of the 31 teams would have offered a late pick for him at virtually no cost with the only risk being next seasons injury guarantee. They would have more $ at risk with lesser players. The plan is to release him on wed while burning up the phones to try to get anything in return. A pick, a practice squad player, a bag of candy corn in time for Halloween will do as well. Been trying to trade him for 11 1/2 months now. So far no takers. He's not a leader and has never been one. Hes always been me first fuck the team.

at the end of the day he is gone, bitch all you want but players in the locker room respected him and called him a leader players like Sam Darnold, Avery Williamson, Greg Van Roten, George Fant, rookie Mekhi Becton, even Head Coach Adam Gase who didn't like his contract he signed with the aforementioned GM Mike Maccagnan...
what he does on his own time is his business not yours... he wasn't feeling well, then got better and went out with family that is his personal time... I reading what you are saying but this is more personal frustration from your view, there are a lot of different sides and from what I have read he was not a big ass as you are trying to make him out to be...
was he a diva, yes but a successful player in his tenure with the Steelers... Did Adam Gase use him the right way, no... But that is Le'Veon's fault for not being properly utilized in this offense... When he got the chance to showcase his abilities he didn't disappoint, made some fabulous catches but guess because the HC/play caller never looked up to witness said catches he didn't keep going to him...
if they have been trying to trade him since Maccagnan signed him that is all on Gase not Bell... Guarantee if CJ Mosley was active right now he also be on the trading block with the aforementioned Brian Poole and Jamison Crowder...
They have been trying to trade him since last years trade deadline, not since mac signed him.
I posted the same after Adam's was traded and he was crowned a leader.
Leaders show up to camp, are first in last out. As I said he took to twitter last year complaining.
He took to twitter in Pitt and complained about teammates, coaching, gameplan. He is going that way and the rookie we hope is his successor is following his lead. Not good.
Gase has done him no favors, but that's who Gase is. Not on Bell, but he hasn't done anything with the opportunities he has received. He is not the same player he was in Pitt. He is older, and slower. Over used in Pitt, long layoff, Gased for a season and a quarter,admitted he was out of shape last season and was to blame for alot of his poor play. Not my buisness what he was doing when the rest of the team was in camp, but it resulted in a very sup par season.
Mosely is another overpaid player who should never have been given that contract. He is a slightly lesser Avery Williamson and if tradable, trade his ass.
The Bell signing was bad at the time it was made, the Jets were the only team prepared to pay the money to a guy who had sat out a season with Superbowl contenders and it was obvious that the Pittsburgh O line played a part in Bell's success (plus a future HOF QB and good receivers). Now Bell can make us look even more stupid by playing for peanuts for a SB contender of his choice. As for Moseley, I've got a suspicion that he will sit out as long as the covid scare lasts, which could be the rest of his career. For another team he will suddenly discover he wants to play.
I would bring back Emerson Boozer to pair with Gore
I'm happy for Bell. He tried to be a good solider, but Gase fucked him. Hopefully they will trade Darnold so he can have a chance to save his career and give me a new team to root for.
Are you just mad at the jets or really love the D man? or both lol......I have not given up on the D man but i am not ready to bet my last buck on him. Just like Murray I like what i see but can he do it week in & week out & is he a winner? Same with the king. Many QB;s have talent but can never make it. Then there is Matt Robinson who is the Best third string QB I have ever seen. He was a winner & may have won the jets a SB if they had not choked

I really like Darnold. I think he could be very good to great. I really hate the Jets at this point. I know they have zero hope because the organization is trash. NYC is trash with high taxes and declining major city with horrible people running that city and state. There is zero reason other than the Jets stupidity to overpay for players to go to the Jets.
Bell’s reps have heard from a handful of teams including the Bears and Ravens. He isn’t expected to be available for too long.
