The cost was high, but giving up a third and then swapping a third for a fourth isn't too much to get the guy you really target at a big position of need.

So basically we gave up one of our 3rds and traded one for a fourth. Not such a bad deal considering the potential he gives us at making that left side unbreachable by putting him next to big ticket at left guard.

maybe not bad

I would say quality because they had the quantity. They had the draft capital to trade up once Slater was off the board. Had to get ahead of the Raiders, knowing they were looking OL.

The draft chart is slightly skewed toward the Vikings, but often the team trading up for the higher spot slightly overpays. Holding onto #34 and getting a fourth back makes the loss of the two thirds worth it. They still could have 3 of the first 34 picks in the draft, which would be franchise-changing. And they are still loaded for next year.

CB is my next top priority to be addressed. Both edge and WR were addressed in free agency with good, young players. RB can be had with a mid-rounder.

Gainwell is a good fit for what LaFleur does. I like the kid from Buffalo, as well, Patterson, maybe slightly later in the draft if Gainwell is gone.

They could have gotten a better player than Tucker. I'm not liking this pick. Darrishaw was there a more physical tackle, Teven Jenkins great feet and very physical. Tucker can only play guard does not have the versatility for center or tackle. Speed rushers give him fits.

Man that left side of our line is going to be crazy good.

We got Campbell from last year. We didn't need another guard we needed a right tackle. It was a wasted a pick on an inferior talent.
