Jordan Whitehead only turns 25 in a couple days, and he has four years of starting experience with the Bucs, including a ring. He has played both free and strong.

Honestly, with Williams going to Baltimore, this move came out of nowhere, but it seems like a very smart response.

If the two years for $14.5 is true thats about what Williams was getting per year. This is a better deal.

Just for context, Williams and Whitehead have averaged similar solo tackle numbers per season, a slight advantage to Whitehead. Whitehead has a ton more TFL's than Williams does. Williams gets considerably more picks, but otherwise, the statistics are not that far off, and even sway toward Whitehead.

Corey Davis 3 years basically a 2 year to get out of deal just in case.
Carl Lawson 3 year basically a 2 year like Corey Davis.
Guarantee these deals will have same out if they are 3 years
Team friendly deals that they can re-up or get out of with minimal to no dead loss.
Guarantee when it comes to re-sign Wilson, E. Moore, AVT, Becton, and Mike Carter one and two they will go up and over the three years and give them competitive dollars with outs after three years but contracts will be for five years depending on their age to position comparison.

remember I stated this move but when I proposed the four safety signing. Both Whitehead, and Reid were affordable options but they fit the style. Whitehead type of player that needs to be a part of a unit rather being the focal reference in a defense. He will have to prove himself to the fans people going to bitch with this signing. I know one member on this forum who was completely against him being a Jet.

welcome to the new reality. they are signing valuable pieces to bring together that perception. it might take one more full year and off season to complete the rebuild but now they have added to what once was a solid young core.
