if jets believe he is healthy enough to play, this seems like a good move - and with QB openings narrowing one hopes we are not paying a huge price
Bridgewater would in my opinion - and I know some will disagree strongly - allow us to let the draft come to us. He has enough upside that we could refrain from paying up to move up for a QB - but take a QB if he gets to us. ....and then grab yet another non first round roll of the dice QB if needed.
If he's healthy, big if, and if he regain his form, he's a good QB.
As Willie Colon pointed out on SNY, the Jets have a great medical staff. If anyone can get Bridgewater up to speed, it's them. He still advocates bringing back McCown and drafting a QB.
I actually agree with this. With Bridgewater, the Jets can be patient. If one of the top QBs falls to the Jets at #6, great. If not, then another top player will, whether it be Barkley, Chubb, Nelson, someone like that. With five picks above them, only so many guys can be off the board. If there's a run on QBs, go BPA and then look at either Jackson or Rudolph in the early second round.
Potential Starter: Teddy Bridgewater
Insurance Policy: Josh McCown
Clipboard Guy: Christian Hackenberg?
Draft Prospect: Lamar Jackson
^^^ This is NOT sexy but doable!!!
Do you keep four? If one has to go, presumably it's Hack.
