Hearing the same thing.
Ian Rapoport, a more reliable source, reporting that negotiations are happening and that the Jets are his first choice.
All depends on his health. I would imagine a contract would have protections for the Jets in case he does not come back to form.
if jets believe he is healthy enough to play, this seems like a good move - and with QB openings narrowing one hopes we are not paying a huge price
Bridgewater would in my opinion - and I know some will disagree strongly - allow us to let the draft come to us. He has enough upside that we could refrain from paying up to move up for a QB - but take a QB if he gets to us. ....and then grab yet another non first round roll of the dice QB if needed.

I actually agree with this. With Bridgewater, the Jets can be patient. If one of the top QBs falls to the Jets at #6, great. If not, then another top player will, whether it be Barkley, Chubb, Nelson, someone like that. With five picks above them, only so many guys can be off the board. If there's a run on QBs, go BPA and then look at either Jackson or Rudolph in the early second round.

If he's healthy, it's an incredible pickup. If not, presumably the contract will protect the team from injury.
Totally agree Sack - if healthy, and can regain his form, he's a good player - smart, mobile, pretty good arm, and can run a pro offense effectively. He's also a very high character kid. Of the FA QBs out there, he is the best value, again if healthy. He's been out of football now for quite some time, so it will take him some time to get his game back. But, if he can do that, he can play.
As Willie Colon pointed out on SNY, the Jets have a great medical staff. If anyone can get Bridgewater up to speed, it's them. He still advocates bringing back McCown and drafting a QB.

Hackenberg could finally making strides positive..
Bridgewater can be day one starter, but just in case now we have McCown..
Jackson could be future starter, or trade chip...
all plausible options...

Just hope Bridgewater is the answer and tank if he is not.
thats doable... not ugly... a team rebuilding is NOT going to get an Aaron Rodgers but have to make things work and continue to build moving forward...
next year we should not only be in the driver seat but able to make moves to draft Jarrett Stidham who IS a franchise type QB...
