re-evaluating draft, players going back to school has shaken things up some...

Jets Mock Draft 12/28:

1. CeeDee Lamb, WR Oklahoma (even if RA leaves in FA)
2. Jon Greeenard, Edge Florida (JG plethora of rush moves)
3. Charlie Heck, LT UNC (Son of Andy Heck current OL coach for KC Chiefs, technical sound tackle)
3. Kristian Fulton, CB LSU (first round talent has injury past that will caution teams but worth the risk)
4. Tom Hennessy, OC Temple (Jonotthan Harrison under contract to allow Hennessy time to adapt but has potential long term starter)
5. Ben Bartc, OG St. John's (local project with major potential)
6. Benito Jones, NT Ole Miss (a possible 3 down NT, rare find)
6. Aaron Parker, WR Rhode Island ( small school product with good numbers - 76 passes for 1,158 yards and 8 touchdowns this season )

Just watched the college playoffs. Apparently 'Chase Young' was playing in the second game. If we have dropped far enough in the draft to miss him I won't lose any sleep. And we won't need a 'Chase looks fat to me' thread either. CeeDee Lamb made little impact in the first game, replacing Robby with him would just be treading water.

Douglas has had an awful draft history as the Jets' GM.

He has not drafted a single starter since he was hired as GM of the Jets. Not one! I know, that's tough to believe. Almost impossible. But it's true. Look it up.

The pats loss helped lower our SOS a few points. Dallas was real close and Raiders had a lower SOS so that's 2 we likely don't slip behind.

You're right.........It's in the hands of Douglas now. He is really in a bad situation though because he doesn't have a lot of money to work with this season thanks to the cap situation Mac put us in. As a result he may struggle some this first time at bat. I don't envy him this off season. Our "O" line needs at least 4 new quality players and that will be a tall order to fill.

I have a feeling he is going to spend all of the picks on the lines.

The team has a ton of needs and really the only way to properly address them is through the draft

Edge Rusher
Two quality, starter caliber CB's (I like what Poole & Maulet did this season but they are rotational guys, not starters)
#1 WR (really need someone to help Darnold develop, we don't have anyone who scares defenses)
Kicker

That is a ton of positions to have to try to find starters in the draft. Usually you are looking for starters in the first 2-3 rounds, then depth players. We really have no luxury at depth right now because we need starters.
