Urban Meyer Officially Hired by Jacksonville

Happy for Jags who booted season to get a QB that can take them to championships. Jags knew who they wanted and gave zero time to the other teams. Meanwhile Jets will horse around losing any chance of getting a good coach. Remember Chargers, Falcons are far better then Jets and like Jags both have good QBs. Jets can talk to Titans oc that has giant O Line and imo the best big RB in NFL. Im not impressed with his coaching the offense with a very good o line and RB and a avg QB. Could he do better with Jets current O Line and RB? Doubt it, Jets arent close to Titans big O Line and RB. There are Eagle coach and Selah from 49ers and Jets better take one before Chargers and Falcons better teams get them.
He's good for sure but I had reservations about the Jets going after him because he has left coaching 2 or 3 times that I recall for personal reasons. I believe that I mentioned this once before. That may not be a concern going forward but you have no way of knowing. I'm sort of glad that he's no longer available.
Its hard for me to think a rude,snobby,bossy College coach can bring that attitude to NFL. NFL players is a job College is going to school and college coaches sometimes dont get that at work you cant pay me enough to be yelled at and talked down to all the time. But I hope for Jags it turns out. Because they booted the season to get the top pick in draft to get that player to bring them championships like Colt did twice for P Manning and A. LUCK. Wished my Jets wanted to do that for us as fans. But watching Johnson allow the coach and players now gone, to screw us caused me to lose wgat little respect I had for them. Mad Dog spoke today about teams booting to get franchise players to win championships and spoke on all sports teams do it for those players to win for team and fans.. Johnsons dont care at all about that. Just average to sell trinkets and seats

Two concerns about Meyer, his health and ability to handle losing.
Hes very in touch with the NFL, has close contact with many former players and coaches. Dont think he will have any issues dealing with players. Hes been doing his homework about what works and doesnt work in the league. I am pretty confident he will change the culture in Jax. I hope we hire the right man here to do the same.

If the Jets were to hire Meyer, I don’t think I’d like it.

Hope Lawrence is the drafts ultimate fools gold. Hoping the Jets dodged a bullet,losing out on him.

You were so high on Lawrence when we had the first pick. Called him a no brainer at 1.
Hes a good kid, why wish failure on him....
They can have him. He seems like he comes with ALOT of demands and baggage! He’s old so he probably won’t be coaching too long, has health issues, seems like he’s used to bosses kids around and having everything his way. This is the NFL and your dealing with grown ass men and that shit ain’t going to fly here. Glad we hired Saleh and Jags can have the Meyer headaches. I think we finally got it right and very happy with what the Johnsons and Joe D did here. Good luck with that shit Jaguars!
Only downfall is we won’t be drafting Lawrence but I believe Saleh and Joe D will figure that out. I have faith in them making it work with Darnold or drafting another QB, if that’s what they choice to do. Even signing a free agent QB or trading for one I’ll give them some honest time to make it work and hopefully they can do so!
