Van Roten tosses Zach under the Bus (sort of)

GVR says “ this is the NFL. Kid has to get the ball out”. Does say the rest of the O (including the line) needs to play better . Saw this on another forum and fans are screaming to cut him. I think players calling each other out might not be a bad thing. Sure as hell nothing else is working…..
What say ye ??????

I saw this also. I would like the Jets to get rid of GVR, but they have only Feeney as a backup. Poor FA and drafting by Douglas to add depth at these positions.

I say, GVR keep your mouth shut. the line sucked for Sam too and look at him now on a team that was also supposed to have a bad line

Zach is getting sacked once every 7 drop backs and the defenders are beating the ball to Zach sometimes

Exactly. The O line isn't just a turnstile. You have to go slow through a turnstile.
Defenders coming at Zach look more like a prison break.

Zach tried to make something happen holding ball long waiting for WRs to get some space, instead sacked or hurried. I’d like to see quick passes with run with maybe 2TEs sets to help protect Zach and give him targets if in trouble. WRs, O Line combined are bad by not catching passes at key time when ball hitting them in hands. Offense cord needs to design games to strengths of Zach with building confidence in him and those around him. This young man is as good as Oregon QB on chargers, but diff is WRs open catching balls anywhere close, and Zach is hitting them in tight coverage like Dan Marino. Catch the ball look back WRs in 3 seconds.

"Broken down by game, Van Roten has clearly been a major contributor to the Jets’ offensive woes. The guard accounted for 43.8 percent of the Jets’ pressures in Week 2 and 37.5 percent of them in Week 3. That means Van Roten has allowed almost half of the team’s pressures in the past two games, even though he’s just one of five starting linemen."

He should know. He has a perfect view of Zach when he turns around to see the player he should have blocked nail him.

And now I saw a slight by Corey Davis to Wilson as well. These two should worry about their own pitiful play before they start to talk about others. NO ONE on the O-line has the right to say anything and Davis better start making those catches that a high school player could make before opening his mouth.

GVR is the worst player on a horrible O Line! He is looking to pass blame anywhere he can because he already knows "he is God awful"!

I saw a stat today (can't find it) that shows Wilson's average release being 1.7 seconds. According to the graphic I saw, that is much quicker than any of the other rookie QBs.

Van Roten is mouthing his way off this roster.
Sounds good to me, that’s just what needs to happen

that beats brady by 3 .5 seconds we should be superbowl bound. oh wait, we don't have any receivers who can catch.
