We knew they were going to bring someone in. I would have been ok if they waited a bit longer. Let the young guys get some reps. But a veteran is definitely good to have in the room to help with the younger guys understanding and intricacies of being an NFL QB.

That’s the thing with these veteran back-up QBs that just won’t go away, they are good enough to stay in the NFL, never the same team but not good enough to stay on the field. So your damn if you do and damn if you don’t with them. Worst case scenario is if Zack gets hurt or isn’t ready, we play Johnson for a few games and don’t get embarrassed to bad. Maybe even get a win or two. Probably the best we can hope for!!!

So, as I predicted (several threads ago), they signed a veteran QB with the same skill set (arm and mobility) as Wilson, so the rest of the team doesn't have to learn different assignments in the playbook when the QB changes.
