Why, did the Jets' CBs perform so well last year that you can't imagine a guy with Derek Jones' size and physical ability cracking the rotation? Or at the very least, contributing on special teams?

Went back and watched video (Draftcountdown site) and came away pretty excited about this kid's potential. Excellent ball-skills, very athletic, great size for a CB and willing to stick his nose in the rough stuff. Granted he is raw, but with Dennard Wilson coaching him up we could have a real late round steal with Jones. I don't think there is any way that he is not on the 53 man roster. I think he is exactly the type of CB that Bowles likes, so he stays over the likes of McDougle and maybe even Clark.

believe both Clark and Jones make the active roster... both have the size and length that Bowles likes... Clark is more ready to contribute to defense if need be, as Jones is likely to be a special team's role player...

Curious as to your thoughts, but to me Jones is the much more fluid and better athlete. I'm am far from being an expert, but I think once he gets experience and the proper coaching he could be quite good. Clark looked a bit stiff, but a two-minute tape doesn't tell the whole story.

One year switch from WR to CB ...he is athletic but I see practice squad... maybe sign up to play week 13 or so

Clark is a younger version of what we hope Claiborne will be for us, if Clark can continue developing he could become a very good press cover corner...

Jones length and closing speed will give him a major role on special teams: gunner, returner which would get him playing time immediately... Clark coming off injury has to build from the ground up but has more tools than Jones has as a corner who can be a situational guy my mid year...
