I know we are in a full rebuild mode with letting the veterans go but I think if we can do a couple of things we can be a competitive team...
1 - Keep Eric Decker and get a TE.... Decker can play outside and in the slot. Gives a lot of flexibility to the offense with Enunwa and Anderson that we need to be creative with those guys. Also he is a great safety blanket for any young QB. Look at his numbers his 1st year hear as the #1 guy with a rookie QB and no help from any other receiver and an ok running game. he left 2 games before the 1st half was over and missed another game and still had 962 yds receiving. He needs to stay. Also, a TE will be huge again. If you can move Decker inside and out. Have Te that is dependable on the inside it will make the passing game much easier for any QB especially if it's Petty or Hack.
2 - Get CB's and a pass rusher - If we can get just average play by our CB's. Mixed with a real outside pass rusher in the mold of a young JOhn Abraham. the D will be greatly, greatly improved. Here I say we draft Marlon Humphrey in RD1 and sign a guy like Mo Claiborne. As far as pass rusher goes I would look to sing Nick Perry if the price is right and then draft a guy like TJ watt Or Takkaraist McKinley
I know there are other needs to look at specifically LT and RB but I do believe if we can do the 2 things above we will at least be competitive in games as we go 4-12....
