Enunwa getting a lot of H-Back reps. May already be a better blocker than Cumberland.

julius thomas was a top 3 TE when playing with peyton manning. let's see if he is anything close to a top 3 TE playing with blake bortles.

as to signing thomas over cro, how do you even compare the 2 contracts. cro is on essentially a 1-year deal. he makes $7 million this year and doesn't have another penny guaranteed after this year.

thomas signed a 5 yr, $46 million contract, with $24 mil guaranteed.
Thomas may not get a boost from Bortles, but Bortles is certainly going to perform better with Thomas available.
He's taken a big step up, so far, in preseason - and not just because he has an experienced TE hanging around.

I would be very careful of judging any Qb by the preseason.( first four regular season games is better indicator). Also playing the Steelers, Giants, and Lions defense like Bortles has is conducive to looking good- will that continue when defenses get more complicated, and he sees way better defenses.

Also isn't Julius Thomas out for next couple weeks- hurt his hand.

A month, is the report.

QB footwork, reads, and accuracy are pretty consistent throughout preseason and the regular season. They might change from year to year, but not usually IN-SEASON.
QBs are easy to judge. They either have it or they don't, mostly.
You can RUIN them quickly, but getting significantly better usually takes a loooooooooong time - a decade or so. (Rich Gannon, for example.)

I totally disagree with you. Take Browning Nagle , and Ryan Leaf as example why you have to be very careful how Qb's look in the preseason playing against vanilla defense. Both look like they were going to be big time Qb's in the preseason , only to be exposed in the regular season against more complex defenses.

I can wait for the end of the season to see just how wrong I was about Bortles.
