We Stink

After reading your quote here I am now convinced that we really do stink. Just because we expected to stink and we do, doesn't mean that we don't (I think thats funny) My point here is that we expected to stink and we were expected to compete for one of these quarterbacks and we have blown it. We didn't stink enough! We can't even stink the right way! We are the Jets! The Giants may have had hopes of ending the season playing the Cheatahs and now they have a better shot of drafting a new franchise qb. If you are going to stink then you might as well stink bad enough and at the right time to be able to draft a franchise qb when you need one. and besides needing many other things, we need one of them

We can all talk about what the Jets should do and what they need until we are blue in the face but none of it matters because we have no control over it anyway. I'd rather make light of the situation and make at least someone out there chuckle

Does the team need to completely stink to draft our next franchise QB...Remember in 2000 our last real franchise QB was picked at #18. There's still a little ray of hope that we can finally find our guy if that dart lands just right.....

You took the words right out of my mouth. Preach my good man, preach! Only difference is your making good light humor out of this but I am serious. The Jets haven’t tried stinking correctly since the Kotite years and drafting Keyshawn Johnson. Who didn’t even turn out to be a true franchise WR. Since then, our team at times have been horrible and could have stink it up correctly to draft a true franchise QB but always screwed it up.

They would always win those 3-4 or 1-2 games that would takes us out running for him and have to trade up to get him. That hasn’t worked to this date, so why not finally try it correctly and stink bad enough to draft who we want at #1 or #2. Sad part is the Giants had the SB hopes this year but stink bad enough to draft their next 15-20 year SB winning franchise QB. While we will most likely draft a late first round bust or whatever round bust. Same ole freaking Jets!!!

Note: I stand corrected, the Jets did get it right with Pennington but his injuries killed his 15 year franchise SB winning QB mark. That we can’t put on the Jets.

The comms said during that Rams game that the reason Goff is having a breakout season is they got Whitworth at left tackle and a good center and therefore Goff wasn't having to watch out for blindside hits all the time. I remember when we used to value the left tackle and center positions.

Slept through most of the fourth quarter of the Faders-Patrots game, it was so one-sided it wasn't funny. The smell of ANOTHER NE Superbowl hangs over the AFC like hydrogen sulfide. And they don't even have to cheat these days.

We know the Oline blows - it sucks plain and simple. I'm hoping Winters is hurt, because if he isn't and plays this way, oh boy did they screw that up. Jets have a dilemma - they need both and OL and QB. Expensive to buy in free agency and one will win the battle to be drafted in April. all things aside, in general the GM is doing a good job of building the roster - something others have mostly failed at. Mangini may have been the last and only for a long time. Parcells lived off vets, and never drafted well. This guy is different, but the QB spot is getting tougher to fill and the franchise cannot move forward until they solve it.

what to do? I don't know that Cousins is the be all end all guy. The dilemma with him is you have to commit in free agency before the draft. And what if the Jets cannot trade high enough to get THE guy......then what? We could be looking at another loss of competitive years.

Bottom line is we do stink, but NOT in the larger picture of things? It appears this team will win somewhere in the range of 5 to 7 games? That means that we are 5-11, 6-10, or 7-9 team?

That means we do STINK. beyond a shadow of a doubt and by any standard, that SUCKS. That's also called MEDIOCRITY. That endless ocean of teams that are always within striking distance of .500? However, it basically takes a small miracle to make the playoffs and everyone is always cracking jokes about your team.

It's not good enough and it never will be.

But in the scheme of things, we were rebuilding the team and the team had to start somewhere. Mac's choice was to tear it all down and start from scratch. We've very quickly found out that this team is NOT as bad as everyone thought they are in fact, one year into the rebuilding process, they are already into that endless abyss of MEDIOCRE teams.

So we are ahead of the curve IMO. But make no mistake I do NOT want to be mediocre. If that's out ultimate destination in all of us, sign me up to fire Mac right now.

This must end in a SB victory. ANYTHING short of that is a FAILURE.

Stink? Based on what? I didnt have any expectations of our Jets going to Playoffs/SuperBowl to think our Jets stink like the Giants with their SuperBowl Dreams. Giants STINK! Jets done about what I thought depending on effort by Players and Bowles Coaching getting better or the same. So Jets right now is interesting, When will Wilkerson start dogging us? How many Teammates join in with Wilkerson? Will Bowles get better? Right now he stinks. If it wasnt for the new Coaching additions on Offense & Defense Bowles would be even worse this year Coaching wise! Jets finally got an Offensive Cord. and the Defense Coaches like Greene even got Wilkerson to play hard! Next year GM needs to get a QB, RB, OL men and give our new Cord. something. Bowles needs to GO! Players do not play hard for him & his game planning and Punting plans are just silly. If we had the same Coaches as last year we would be 0-8 with Bowles. I'm sick of hearing Bowles deserves credit for Jets play when its all the addition to Coaching that was added and Players responded in kind! Fire Bowles, Draft some Offense & lets go JETS! Oh Mikey...if you dart board draft on the next Draft Taking High School talent level QB's like the one you Drafted in last years Draft you should be FIRED also with Bowles. Like it or not, Bowles has done a good job so far this year. As HC, it's his job to put the right coaching staff in place and he appears to have assembled a pretty good staff. Morton has been pretty good for a first time OC but "His "Offensive game planning has been suspect in a few games and so has his choice of play calling in several situations. Look how many time outs Bowles has been forced to burn due to Morton failing to get a play called in time.
Greene has nothing to do with Wilkerson's play. He coaches linebackers. Credit him with Jenkins and Lee improving. Wilk suddenly showed up when Bowles publicly announced he was considering benching him. This is essentially a contract year for Wilkerson and he is only about $ .
Bowles has motivated the players and has them playing hard and they are prepared every game, with the exception of the Tampa game. The team was flat from the opening drive.
I'm not a Bowles fan but he has done a very good job so far this season.

What was one of the first things Parcells did? Signed Kevin Mawae ...and Vinny became a hero...

I didn't say I wasn't serious. I just said I like to make light of it in a humorous way
