Here's what I can't figure out what some or most of you Jets fans can't understand. Dak's QBr may have only been a 69 but that was his first ever NFL game as a young 22 year old rookie. Fitz was over 100 but how long has he been in the league and how many teams and he hasn't even made the playoffs yet! If Dak keeps progressing like other young QBs for ex.. R. Wilson or Luck or Cam or D. Carr (Raiders) or Winston is doing. Imagine where he will be just like those other young QBs for instance. Wilson has already been in two SBs and won one. Cam's been in one SB, Luck has been in a AFC championship game and Winston and Carr are getting better every year. That can be Dak also and we could of had him. So if this will be the case, your telling me you would rather have Fitz over Dak? Even with Fitz 100 plus rating yesterday and Dak's, 69 last week, I would rather have Dak but if you don't then so be it.

I like Dak Prescott. But he's not a Jet, so why bother wondering "what if"? We can go on for months about what would've happened if we had drafted player X. But I don't see the point. We drafted Petty and Hackenberg. Those are the guys Im rooting for down the line.

And Fitzpatrick was definitely no "has been" last night. His stats were off the charts. And for the vast majority of 2015, he played well, too.

Do you remember those old scout days, when we had a poster who was absolutely convinced Omar Jacobs would be a top-tier NFL QB? Sometimes, fans get that way about players.

Bowles admitted in his conference call today that he should have gone for 2 up 12.

The decision was wrong, and he should be held accountable. It is good, though, to hear him hold himself accountable and admit his mistake.
Yes, it is, and to be honest, it was such a frantic game and I was so excited when we scored a TD in that spot, which you had to believe clinched the game, that it was totally lost on me that we should have gone for two, and I usually have my head in the game, like last week when I criticized Bowles for not calling an immediate T.O. when we stopped the Bengals on 3rd Down to force a FG. I rarely lose sight of things like timeouts, clock management and when to go for two, but I didn't realize it last night until well after the fact. Of course thats not an excuse for Bowles, he's the HC and I'm not, its his job to be aware of the circumstances, but that game was so frantic, I can see how he lost track.

No. I wish I did.

But I learned perspective when I played in college. After HS losses, it would kill me all weekend. In college, I learned to take it for a little bit, be angry, be upset, but then to move on, to go out that Saturday night (in part because it was really the only night I could go out when I played in college).

The problem is, fans take it a lot worse than players do, for a variety of reasons. It's baseball, and not football, but if I recall, the movie Fever Pitch even addresses that dynamic. Fans take stuff worse than players do.
Totally true about fans talking losses harder than fans. Its not a myth. I've known enough players to know its true.

That said, if you don't mind my asking, where did you play college ball and what position?

I watched a lot of Dak Prescott in college and it never occurred too me that he was anything special. That doesn't mean I was right or he can't be a late bloomer, but I think the media was overrating him based on the preseason. But again, I could be wrong. Frankly I didn't think much of Tom Brady at Michigan either.

DIII Franklin and Marshall, mid-90s, OL. I showed up after playing every position on both sides of the line in HS except center, and they handed me a football about the second day of camp as a freshman.

#1. No , I don't want a rookie Qb running this team .
Dak played one game and lost and your anointing him the next Dan Marino
#2 are you saying I don't know what I'm saying ? Don't have a brain?
Because if that's what your implying ...
I'll reserve my self

#3 all your posts have been negative to the "Jets Faithful "( Your words)
You want to antagonize those who believe in this team , you opened yourself up for criticism .
Your wrong on many counts be a grownup and admit it.

Dak , Rogers , Eli , etc are not Jets. When they do , if ever ,have the next franchise QB we will all be happy. Accept what you have this year and roll with it.

But don't come back at me and imply I don't know what I'm talking about .
Opening myself for criticism is no problem. I'd done it on this site many of times and probably will do it a lot more. I also have no problem with the criticism. I feel the way I feel and whomever doesn't agree, it's ok and life goes on. As far as Dak is concerned, let's just look at the differences here. If your telling me the Jets are going to win a SB this year or any year with Fitz then I'm all in. But being that your not and I don't believe in Fitz at all, I see no point in him being on the team. To me, he's just setting us all up for the let down either in the playoffs or like last year before the season is even over. I'd rather go this far with Dak or Petty or Hack then Fitz. Now I'll say it once again, if your telling me the Jets will win a SB with Fitz then I'm all in and will be the first admit I'm wrong. Being that your not, I'm not all in. As far as the no brain comment, I wasn't necessarily implying that but take it as you will.

Dak may turn out to be a flop but right now, he looks like he has the goods. I'm not much of a college guy either so I didn't know much about Dak but the little bit I did see of him, he was impressive. If I'm correct, he was projected a second rounder but his dui dropped down to the forth. Time will tell on all these young QBs.

Got it and it makes since. I agree in fact! Just don't get your hopes up to high with Fitz. It may not turn out as you like

There are no certainties. He can progress like Ryan Leaf as well. You or no one knows which will happen. But you insulting others for not agreeing with your OPINION, is where you are falling short.

Not insulting anyone. That's not where I was going with it. Like I said in a different post, if your telling Fitz will win us a SB this year or in the near future then I'm all in. Being that I don't see any post of anyone telling me this then I'd rather lose this year with a younger QB. Doesn't have to be Dak ofcourse because we didn't draft him. The only reason I use Dak as an example is because obviously he's ready to play and do his part to help his team win. Petty doesn't appear to be or I'm guessing he would be and Hack (second rounder) obviously is not. I don't use Wentz as an example because the Jets had no chance to draft him but they damn sure did with Dak. Anyway, this wasn't any insult per say, I was just saying if the Jets are not going to win a SB this year anyway, then why not do with a younger QB. Anyway, I'm done with this convo. I just keep quiet and let's see where this goes this year. If we a SB, I'll be the first to admit I was wrong but if we don't, I won't be upset at all because i wasn't expecting to win with Fitz anyway.

Forte has proven his worth to expand this offensive game plan scoring three times tonight but there is no way he can carry thirty times for the next fourteen weeks...

Forté's career average is 17.4 carries per game with a career high of 316 carries as a rookie - and an additional per game average of 4.0 receptions on about 5.3 targets per game.
He's only missed a total of 8 games over 8 years, so he is VERY durable.
This season the Jets have already run him 22+30 times (52=26x average) & hit him for 5+2 receptions on 7+3 targets (70%).
Forté has rushed 20 or more times in 33% of his career games, but 25 or more only 9 times in his 122 games.
He's exceeded his career 4.22 yard average in 55 of his 122 regular season outings, with 25 games of 100+ yards rushing plus 4 games with 100+ yards receiving.
Poor bastard only had 2 playoff games in CHI, (42 carries and 18 receptions for 294 yards total), so kinda hard to theorize anything from that.

Career Comps, so far: Donny Anderson, Earl Campbell*, Eddie George, Adrian Peterson, Marshawn Lynch, Mike Garrett, Altie Taylor, Clinton Portis, Brian Westbrook, & Terry Metcalf.
That's some seriously good company.

Enunwa has been the star on offense so far in two weeks with everyone targeting our top 2 it is nice to have a 3rd option in the passing attack that shows he can be a threat...
HYATT™ said it when he was drafted, during his 1st training camp & preseason - HYATT™ likes Enunwa to become a very dependable James (Ledfoot) Jones-like 3rd receiver for the Jets. Took a bit to get over the initial injury bug, but he's on his way now.
