Maybe you get lucky and a contender takes him on for a 4th, but that front 4 isn't having any impact and putting Richardson at OLB is just an idiot move.
If he's bad enough to be dumped by as horrible a team as the Jets, there would be no market for him. A fourth would never happen.

Coming into the season,we knew the schedule was brutal (worst in nfl) but the decisions in game are beyond difficulty of schedule. Bowles constantly takes a safe approach late when our offense is stalled and our d is gassed,as if the opposite is true. 4th and inches late is our best chance at a successful drive,down 2 scores. If you can't get 6 inches you should forfeit the game.
D coaching is bottom of the league. Play calling is dizzying. Challenges are worthless. Time management doesn't exist.
But who cares about wins, do you guys realize we had the best week of practice in 2 years!!!!!

LMAO you can take the deep side of the argument and play devils advocate that "if he is so bad why would anyone take him", but he is still regarded as one of the best DE's in the league.
That has meant nothing for our defense but that doesn't change that fact at all. Our CS sucks and have shown no creativity in using the players that we have, but that doesn't change the fact that we have too many holes to entertain paying a DE premium dollar on a potential 4 win team.
We have to sacrifice somewhere to improve in other areas and this so called vaunted front line sucks right now and is costing a grip (as well as Mr. Revis's contract which needs to be restructured or cut him)
If we were getting beat out by better teams and being outplayed you can take the crappy standings and losses, but we are being out coached and out classed which makes this much much harder to swallow.
Coming into the game unprepared and making no in-game adjustments makes it look like the CS doesn't give a damn and expects to lose.
I hear and feel the same damn way but something inside all of us just won't allow us to do it. I don't know if it's loyalty, stupidity, being crazy or a combination of all three. Maybe we're just a glutton for punishment. If I could have done it, I would have about 15 years ago or so but I'm still hear. So trust me, you are not alone and there are probably thousands of other Jets fans that feel the same.
Could be worse. We could be Browns or Lions fans.
If you have a good player that is failing because he's being misused by the coaching staff, you replace the coaches, not the player. Getting rid of the player, especially when the player's value is so artificially low, is short-sighted.
Changing the CS is much harder to do and usually takes years before a decision in that direction is made.
If you don't get rid of the overpriced novelties then where to do you find the room to rebuild? If not there, then how do you revamp an entire secondary and LB corp that has looked so pedestrian?
F-ints wasn't as bad today as I hoped. The defense flopped once again but then again, the Steelers are just a much better team and they wore us down. That's what the better teams do to the worse ones. They wear them down eventually if not just blow them out. We might as well lose the rest of our games to get that #1 overall pick. Is there a can't miss QB coming out this year?

Agreed.. this is a coaching and scheme problem this year.... this is not Mo or Sheldon problem. They just aren't being used well
We have seen Revis matched against many wrs. He's making mental mistakes,is not a shut down corner,isn't healthy,can't cover any talented wr 1 on 1. His contact is too high next year. He's had 2 years to show who he is. Being a cb1 is too physically demanding on him.
He clearly still has value, but I would move him to free safety next week. 15 or 17 million is too much cash for so little a return. Shut down corner,ok, but that's not Revis anymore.
Take Fitz 12 million, Revis 17 million and that's 29 mill in cap space alone. Revis will earn 9 or 10 next year,regardless of its us or another team.

The is a bad team...and very bad chemistry and to boot they are poorly coached.
I really think that the FO and the fan base overestimated the talent on this team. They have NO on field leadership ( you never ever see anyone getting in anyone's face about their play, missed assignments, etc. big problem) on the field, there is never ever any sense of urgency on O and worse which disgusts me is they have no heart.

Let's be honest. When mac was hired we had the least or near least talent in football, overall. That is a6 year rebuild which I think has been shortened to 3 or 4 years. Mac has added some badly needed pieces.
Bowles is not embarrassing,but he is exposed and not ready for the job. If the idea is to let him grow with the team,fair enough.
Fitz was historically good last year, but success depended on the health of every moving part being healthy. He was our best available shot this year and is on a1 year contract.
That leaves us in a decent spot going forward,we have dedicated vets,good drafts, and agm that is capable.
We need a face lift this year and if course aqb.

This season is circling the drain quickly. I cannot believe some of what I saw out there today. Spread out offense on 3rd and 1 (fail!), domination up front by Pittsburgh, another busted coverage in our secondary (M.Williams), and our defense gives up 75 yards to Pitt with 2 mins left in the half for the go-ahead score. Our defense isn't showing any attitude or pride. Fitzpatrick looks very ordinary out there. Bowles stands there like a statue watching all these miscues and mediocrity, and repeats the same mantra post game:
"We need to get better" "we'll get it fixed" "we have the personnel to get it done" blah blah blah.
We can bitch and moan all we want about the schedule, but we haven't demonstrated that we're in the same league with the good teams.
I'm starting to think that we should just say screw it, put Petty in there when his shoulders better, and prepare for next year. This season isn't going to yield anything better than 5-11 to 8-8 if we somewhat turn it around. We need to see what we've got in Petty and Hack. I'm done watching this lineup.
